In my opinion, it is a pretty decent android phone.

It's clear that oneplus has not focused on the specs here, but instead went more of the apple route for refining the little details.

Although, I am hoping for a variant with a faster chipset, like the oneplus nord racing edition maybe?

And how would you know ? No smartphone ever did had a 12MP ToF sensor, all are ridiculously low resolution, which is why it doesn't help much, AI isn't omniscient, it need data to be fed, if there isn't enough data, it won't give amazing results, that's the reason why Smartphones still have poor focus/blur precision around the hairs, because it lack data to work with.

vrvly, 26 Jul 2020Last phone worth hype was minote10 and that one was with a ... moreNot for everyone, it is an interesting phone, but it have some negative points, for my taste and in general.

For example, it have this horror that is the notch, a slim bezel or even better a pop up camera to ensure privacy.
It also have the other horror being curved edge display, it lack 3D facial recognition.
Its SoC is quite on the low end, myself having a OnePlus 6t and wanting to change (not necessarily for something more powerful, but certainly not for something less powerful) make it not an option.
While I personally don't care, many would complain about the lack of higher refresh rate.
                No notification light available.
It doesn't have anything special for cooling, just the regular stuff.
The 108MP is overkill but why not, in this case, why a 8MP telephoto ? A 12MP minimum is better, a 16MP is better, that's quite sad, it started well with a wide angle having over 12MP (which is a no brainer).
It lack any high resolution macro and ToF, a good 12MP macro and a 12MP ToF depth sensor would be awesome.
                No Wi-Fi AX nor Wi-Fi 6E 6Ghz.
No dual band GPS is quite a bad omission here.
Battery is really nice, but it doesn't have any wireless charging capabilities.

I was hoping OnePlus would make one like OnePlusX hardware wise

Oneplus Nord is more like OnePlus NOT! Overhyped by paid reviews. Ugh..like what even special about it? Get rid of the branding name and look at it straight like any mid-range phone. It just normal phone at best. Lots of removed specs that people actually wanted. Giving unnecessary things like that cameras. OnePlus becoming a brand that just want money. Profit focus brand. Disappointed. No longer flagship killer.

According to me, one should buy this only for the oneplus experience i.e. Oxygen OS. Except that there's nothing really specal about this phone save the 5G support. Other phones in this price segment (in India) offers better CPU like the Redmi K20 pro (Snapdragon 855). They may not offer Oxygen OS's efficiency but I'm ready to sacrifice OS for better hardware.

Last phone worth hype was minote10 and that one was with a Jack too.
It's not easy to be the best, brand name means nothing against real performance. Who knows, next one may be xiaomi again, or will it be Microsoft?

I hope the people at Oneplus have seen the poll results.

Release a Nord T with real no-nonsense flagship killer features.

-- 1 Wide-Angled Selfie Camera is enough. We can always crop the photos.
-- Bring back the AUX jack. This is a mid-range phone, for users with no wireless buds.
-- Remove the macro and depth cameras.
-- Use a brighter ultra wide angle lens with AF utilizing a larger sensor.

Look at Pixel 4a and Iphone 11 for definition of no gimmick phone.

Certain review websites and videos (ex. MKBHD) overhype the Nord. If specs are my concern, the Poco F2 Pro is unbeatable at this price point. In certain countries it will cost $450 (like in my country), $400 the cheapest (probably in India).

Solid build quality (not the best without IP and has fragile popup cam), SD865 SoC with liquid cooling, NFC, IR Blaster, 3.5mm jack, good camera quality, and more. Only lacks wireless charging.

AMOLED display but no HDR. Dissapointed

Well OnePlus should have gone with the iPhone 11 like cameras, i.e. just two cameras on the back a 48/64 MP wide & a 13 MP ultra wide.

SD765G at $450+ looks like SD730G is a mediatek processor. Funny though. This phone is nothing its just for their crap fan who want to buy phone with One+ logo in it. Rest of customer will prefer Other cheaper one with greater feature. There is nothing special in sd765G its just 5G including in it.
