Thing is, I have never taken a selfie in my entire life and I don't intend to either, so having a punchhole camera stuck there for no reason is plain frustrating. Hiding it through software has the downside of sacrificing screen space. I would rather just purchase an older phone without a notch or punchhole, then I never have to think about it or let it bother me.

I always told myself I would never give into buying a phone with any kind of screen obstructions. I know it would bother me.

Xiaomi is unstoppable. Redmi smartphones always come up with some interesting features and now they combine with MediaTek. The phone will be worth an experience.

I am so just fed up of waiting for a decent phone to come along with IPS. I keep trying to find a second hand iPhone 8 Plus on eBay, but most seem to have cosmetic damage, and the immaculate ones sell for too much. :(

This smartphone is awesome and particularly because of its Dimensity 1000 Plus chipset. The cost would also fall due to it.

The things that people in China want are varied.
1- 5G is basically normal. Since everyone appears to be paying 80-100RMB for a 4G plan, the 120RMB 5G plans don't cost too much. If anyone is buying a new phone, the 5G aspect wouldn't make much of a difference. It would be assumed that it is a 5G phone, or an Iphone.
2- KNOWN PREMIUM BRAND - Apple, Huawei - These are the two main ones. Samsung used to be. Haven't seen one in a long time. Other phones are considered lower quality and the other aspects of the phone are less considered.
3- GENDER SPECIFIC - Good gaming/good camera. This is the main thing people consider. Is the phone going to work or crap out in gaming. The K30 Pro (SD865) has been getting blasted on the Xiaomi Community app for months. People are complaining about network connectivity and it affecting gaming.
For photos, people go with good camera phones. Huawei has this pretty much locked up.
Other things - nationalism (Huawei), own OS (Hongmeng - Huawei) is talked about now because of the Google stuff.
I haven't seen anyone discussing the design of the phone. It might be important, but most I see use cases, so the design becomes less important.
