09 August 2020
Bigger, faster and just plain better - the sequel improved on every aspect of the original and outsold it three-fold.

It was the proper engineering choice for Samsung and their customers.

AnonD-928219, 11 Aug 2020Oh man, these were the best days of the smartphone industry... moreSeriously. And now they are all planned obsolescence, over priced, underwhelming junk, with removed features.
But back then they were really pushing things in a wonderful way. I never saw this change coming. Nor so soon.

It's maddening and sickening. And it goes way beyond phones. Every product out there, every company out. Corporate greed has a huge hold on things. And it effects people's lives in a horrible slave like manor.

Oh man, these were the best days of the smartphone industry, Samsung, HTC, LG, Huawei and even Nokia were really pushing what was possible all in their own way, smartphones in this time all stuck out from each other.

The Note 2 really moved the industry considerably forward with a lot of what it brought. I would only join the Note bandwagon with the Note 4 2 years later, I remember having a S3 32GB around this time when the Note 2 arrived.

                I Still Own a Galaxy Note 2:)

                  It was a great device!
So many custom rom and powerful (at that time)..

I use it for two years until it suddenly dead in the morning and need to replace the motherboard.

This was just about the first tolerable phone by modern day standards. Quite a large screen with decent resolution and a lot of essential S-pen features already. I've owned 3 iterations of the Note series (3, 4 and now 10+) and was blown away by each one. I almost feel like a masochist every time I go back to using something from another lineup.

the best phone any one out of the way, different, could have. it was everyone's envy but i used it for a good 6.5 years. i took it half the way round the world and managed to keep it in a very good condition until a month ago it fell from my hand and the display broke. i managed to recover all my data including 1000 contacts and 10000 immages. well done SAMSUNG.

They started copying Samsung and Apple to gain that extra profit. Later once they had enough money they decided to innovate something Apple and Samsung haven't.

This is why I am against overpriced Chinese phones (also underpriced, because they have reliability issues). Happy to take a mid-range or killer flagship from Xiaomi, though (I do not like small brands or anything from BBK)

Anonymous, 10 Aug 2020Actually the note 9 over the note 9...or the 9 series over ... moreI agree. The Note 9 was a resounding masterpiece and grand finale for the Note design before Samsung transitioned to the new generation of hole punch camera design. If I had a Note 9, I would be more than happy even if I kept using it for the next 10 years.

Like the stereo speakers that samsung was 10 years late on. The massive battery upgrade. The huge heatsink upgrade. The dual aperture upgrade. The Bluetooth spen features.
Qualcomm was finally making great strides to efficiency and power.
Ever since then it's just been changing the looks and taking things away. But jacking the prices.

Thank you GSMarena for posting this article...made me bring back good old memories...!
Note 2 was my 1st Note and last Note...and i loved it to the core...it was the most amazing phone at that time...!
I usually buy new phone after 1&1/2 to 2 years of usage...but i kept my Note 2 for 4 years...i was waiting to switch to Note 5, but after seeing the Note 5 launch with glass back and non removable battery...i decided to skip it and instead installed custom rom in my Note 2 which had the same UI and features of Note 4...that's why i didn't bought Note 4...😂...!
That last KitKat update made Note 2 a bit laggy and battery life was terrible after that update...but after installing custom rom...everything was excellent including battery life...!
I never had any kind of issues with hardware...i dropped it many times and it still survived...never used a case on that phone...quality was excellent...!
I really wanted to buy Note 7 because i liked its design very much...but everyone knows what happened with Note7, Samsung didn't launched Note7 FE in my country so had to settle for S7 Edge, i didn't like Note 8 so again settled for S9+...still using it...but i really want to go back to Note series...so i am thinking of buying Note 20 Ultra...but again in my country its the Exynos 990 version...so still deciding...😂...!
