As if trying to associate the jack to poor people gadgets.

But, sadly consumerism is a bad modern thing. And I suffer from it some times. There were phones that I liked, have no issues with them and still I changed them just to try something else.

I'm glad that Samsung made light versions of it, for people to try this experience!
I had both of them white and grey, Note 2 was impressive at that time but in the same time i was disappointed

I really loved this phablet. Was a good step forward, and had very nice features as regarding the hardware as well the software. The next Note was also a good improvement, but after it the Notes made also some steps back like removing the IR sensor and reducing the baro sensor sampling time, and made me very sad, because I loved and used the phablets Note 1, 2 and 3 a lot of for flying with glider planes and paragliders, and the sampling time issues made me to find an another phone.
Basically is very sorry an made the customers unhappy despite some obvious development if some very appreciated and important features are removed.
May be the Samsung team should pay more attention regarding this piece of advise and if something was made well to not made any kind of steps back!

But it's not so much as not liking the vanilla or more affordable note. But don't gimp or price gouge it... or in its case both.

worst phone I've ever had. with a few months of use it started to crash and restart. I had to sue samsung and luckily i won the case. Several galaxy notes II and s3 showed the same defect at the time.

S series sells about 4 - 6x compared to Note.
This is why they make more efforts for S series.
