To be Fair. The 765G is more than enough for everday use, google's image procesnig and heavy gaming. They probably did this to price it more agresively at 700 quid, if there would be 865+ the price would be in the 1000 quid area. Imho the quality screen, good battery life and amazing cameras and software are more important than the flagship power.

Anyone who's interested in Google's camera experience should just buy the Pixel 4a for $350 instead of wasting their money on this overpriced Pixel 5. The Pixel 5 doesn't have enough upgrades to justify it's double asking price.

I hope they are wrong and this is just the 5g version of the 4a and pixel 5 has sd865 and both telephoto and wide angle camera, otherwise what are you huffing google!?! $700 for a barebones phone with a midrange chipset?!

CompactPhones5ever, 11 Aug 2020I see no issues there... People who want better performance... moreIt would make sense only if Google priced their smartphones with "better camera" at least same as smartphones with same specs but "worse camera"; and provided better availability. That would be a real competition.

$700 for this.. that's actually embarrassing, considering the OP 8 cost the same and you're getting a flagship 5G processor and not a mid range 5G processor. The only thing Google has going for them is their brilliant camera software department ( of which all deserve a payrise) and software updates

Google's hardware team takes stock of their market situation, calls all the members to a meeting room, discusses the worst possible action that can be taken in the corresponding situation and then MAKES THEIR BEST EFFORT TO IMPLEMENT THAT SOLUTION.
