Nokia has a backup plan if Windows Phone 8 fails

The reason why Android OS or even any other OS out there is patronized by many is mainly due to the merely increasing popularity without looking much into the utility/usefulness or functionality of the same. Why do most people still choose to buy the expensive iPhones, for instance, if they can find other phones with better specs. and with better prices as well?

Plan B is .... Nokia Nexus running key lime pie ..... haha .. that would kill all other phones once for all.

I still want and love Nokia's Symbian OS. Particularly S60v3 ed. Perfect for users who 'know' how to use it well and effectively. Simply the best OS. Simple yet, very functional and useful. I repeat, that is, if they really 'know' how to use it to the fullest.

LMFAO.... Even Nokia's Series 40 platform would be a better alternative than crapdroid. I'm sure they have a plan B, however I very much doubt that google is a part of it.

I agree that the backup plan has to be android too. blackberry is out, so is iOS. Symbian has been ditched by themselves, meego is simply not there to fight the big war. That is left with android. But even the android market place is competitive with various competitors, so unless Nokia gets creative, they will not survive even via jumping to android.

Nokia imo, cut your losses and go Android O/S or go back to Meego, if you want survive. Meego is a great O/S don't know why you dropped it.

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2012Nokia is acting like a small OEM - seriously! Can't they ju... moreNo it's not feasible. Whether people like to admit/deny it or not, Symbian for starters is its own monster. Look at previous S40 and S60 iterations before Anna and Belle you'll get the picture. Why? Trying too hard and much on cheaper models. It's a blinding mess of too many down the rung phones slapped between midrange feature phones. Biggest singular mistake of all was Symbian DID NOT get opened up as ppl thought it should.
Multi platforms kills focus. Full stop. And that's not another mistake that Nokia should do.
So the plan B is; keep x86 Intel phones (of course while not kicking ARM ones to the curb) on the menu, get MeeGo/Tizen back into the game (I don't know how/what Nokia should do to get the pissed off dev community back but they must) and finally choose either to have a dual spearhead of WP8 or Android strategy.

Nokia is acting like a small OEM - seriously! Can't they just make WP, Android, Symbian, Meego - all together? It's totally feasible for a company that used to release new phones every week. Fire Elop and get your sh*t together, Nokia. The game will be over for you very soon if wp8 plan fails just like wp7 did. MS will keep making wp9, 10 and whatnot. But you'll turn into a museum skeleton in a year or two. Good luck.

They haven't announced all the features of Windows Phone 8. Microsoft said that they only showed some features of Windows Phone 8 at the Summit conference last time. It was for developers and businesses.

We like windows Phone more, and I don't think that will fail. Android's security and fragmentation issues are not there, at least as far as we know. I seriously don't think that nokia should give up to android! All nokia has to do is to give us a christmas gift- a lumia pureview(if pureview is possible under 20 mp). Otherwise, N8's sensor would work!
Now what does windows phone 8 have? Nice looks, nice features (although nothing worth mentioning!). Hey where's bluetooth huh? Not everyone has NFC! So, if I want to get the photo my friend just snapped, the easiest way to get it would be like; he uploads it to facebook and I download it? Heck! And where's the file manager? I am a nokia fan, and I appreciate the speed WP promises, but I do want a file manager- like symbian file manager (ooh, that was the best!), or if you're sharing the same kernel, maybe I should expect somthing like a windows desktop's file manager? If the resolutions of the camera is limited to 20 mp, how do we get pureview? How can nokia pull it off? And what about the design? The same?
Don't go get an iPhone- they control you too much!
Don't go get a droid clone- they aren't safe! Root it and you're done! Droid's like the windows XP for mobiles!
Don't go get the symbian- it's announced to be dead!
Belle is considered symbian.
Donna and Carla are just rumored!
The one OS that doesn't have the drawsbacks from security, speed and fragmentation is WP. And they don't give us a file manager! That really sucks!
I'm a fan of what microsoft is doing in desktops. But desktops are all managed by that file manager right? Explorer.exe? Why can't they, or should I say, why WON'T they bring it to the Phone? These phones cost more than a PC anyways!
And we also want apps, like a good calculator, something that plots graphs of mudulus functions, and the symbian games like 'Boombakas Pro'. Deliver it, and you'll top androids, and we'll come running for you. I'm getting a phone next may. It's going to be a windows phone, or if you still don't come up with a proper, powerful file manager, I may switch from nokia!
Oh hey, does anyone from micros hear me if I keep blabbering here?? Never mind, I just told what I wanted, all of which, droids are already giving us!
And I'm not a fandroid, I'm more of a fandows and fanokia. But I can't waste my money on flop devices! In that case, maybe nokia should go for droids, that will save the company for sure! But i don't like the idea that nokia won't offer chalange to anyone and rather become a friend to droid market! We like the three horse race!
We all want surprises! Oh hey, less price will be the best ''surprise!''
this fall...
