I agree that if Nokia jumps to Android, first off, I will buy one because I trust Nokia's Hardware construction. And Secondly, all other Manufacturer's will be left in the bunsen burner.

Oh Dear God no!!! I mean I don't like Windows Phone much at all but Android is not the answer for Nokia. I mean sure, use Android to generate money but use that money to fund MeeGo. MeeGo and MeeGo only should be Nokia's backup plan.

Welcome to Android Nokia soon. You will fail miserably in Windows 8 for sure. I will be the first to buy a Nokia Android phone to show my support. For windows, even if it is free on a telco plan, I will not use it.

Elop is a microsoft trojan in nokia, he set up the deal that locked nokia into WP and tied their hands when they needed flexability most.

Hahahah. If nokia invented any lumia with android os,then samsung, motorola, htc, apple will go the hell.Hope windows phone of noki fails so that nokia can return in game.
When involved in making WP,in meantime they dig out old s40 in asha 311 but terribely failed in doing that. They should have continued meego or meltemi. Now hope they will make android, that will rule world.

instead of thinking about android, why not develop meego and symbian. meego is a very good os that can match IOS and android anytime and symbian is no longer behind IOS and android except for the apps but if the developers will see the support of the manufacturer and the customers, i am sure applications will boost for both OS..i hope nokia will not forget the OS the brought nokia to the mobile industry as we are still here to support it.

android os + nokia hardware = boom! apocalypse in the mobile world!... that would totally anhiallate iphone and samsung markets. and turn it into dust.. not fossils..
but meeGo is still a nice back up plan if WP 8 didnt made a hit... or rather the best back up plan if they dont really want to join the android camp with the other mobile phone companies.

I wont be happy to see WP strategy failing. It will make market less competitive. Not a good thing for consumers. Third strong ecosystem should co-exist and WP suites better at this place than anything else. Also, its shaping up quite nicely and more future proof now with introduction of Windows NT kernel to the mobile platform.

Um.. Meego.. It emulates Android very well and has access to the market of apps available. Its more than a viable backup plan if there ever was one..

I must say that I wasn't expected so much people would like that mobile industry is becoming so booring. If WP fails, we are left with Android and iOS. With iOS going down in next 10 years, we'll stay only with Android. And that's nothing different then monopole Microsoft had few years ago in PC industry. Things like that makes me sad. :(

it would be totally wonderful to see a lumia 900 style handset running android and a multicore processor
