If (according to Epic's logic) Apple being the sole developer and distributor of iOS doesn't give them the right to decide how transactions withing their ecosystem are handled, then (by the same logic) Epic Games developing and distributing Fortnite should give them no right to decide how in-game transactions of V-bucks are handled. Every third party company should be allowed to make their own V-bucks and sell them inside Fortine, while paying nothing to Epic. Will they allow that? I don't think so. Epic Games is such a bunch of hypocrites...

As most others in comments are misinterpreting, this does not mean apple has to specifically change its store policies if it loses, but has to allow alternate methods of software installation, such as ability to switch stores or to install apps by downloading from websites. The argument of 'apple's stores, apple's policies' would have more meaning if users could have another way of installing apps. As of now, it is more like 'apple's device, apple's policies', despite the fact that the user has already paid for the device and software. The court results will have great implications on software freedom, device ownership etc

I wonder why Spotify didn't do this earlier...
30% of Spotify's ios users subscription fee goes to Apple, the owner of iTunes
It's like destroying the competition totally...

As much as I dislike Apple and their walled garden practices, this is just nonsense.
Apple created iOS, and makes the devices for it, too. How can you complain about monopolistic practices when the owner itself controls everything and on the other hand, there's also Android out there as an option.
This is just Epic trying to jump the shark and more likely than not, they will get banned on both stores.

I am with Apple and They should respect Apple store policy..If they are going to win this case, then millions of other developers can simply take card details from the customers by offering "cheap payment" solution. You might say that millions of others do it on pC, but remember you have really small developers (one person, one team) who makes games just to earn few bucks and if they suddenly get all your card details. Do you think all of them would care about Apple store policy?:)

Apple also charge 50 cents for super chats instead of the 5.00 on my google phone on my ipad it had 5.49 which i was not willing to pay , i do think its time for ios to get another store or the choice to have the store you want as apples apps and games are more expensive to buy and those small 50 cents do add up

Apple and Google has become a monopoly and they do whatever they want. They not only charge app makers but also collect enormous amount of personal data from their users. I decided that this is not what I want and switched to /e/ OS fro m e foundation, which is basically ungoogled android made for privacy. I still run my favourite android apps, but Google cannot collect my data. I don't even have a Google account.
