All companies have their strengths and weaknesses but their products are certainly not rubbish. I used the p20 before my current phone and the signal strength and call quality was the best I've ever had (way better than my current phone). Their routers have also been good for me in the past. Of course they have drawbacks relative to other companies too (e.g. the toughened glass they use on phones is not as resilient as gorilla glass)

We REALLY need an OS that isn't from the US, an open source one like Linux (but really made for smartphones) and with way better hardware support that would allow it to work with ANY devices, not a per device variant of the OS.
Or a variant of Linux that would be compatible with most of its apps/softwares while maintaining a good and easy experience for non techies, and specially optimized small tactile devices.
That would be SO MUCH BETTER than an OS from a greedy corporate collecting data for its government and used as a cold war tool...

Huawei is still selling in tons to 3rd world countries. People here mostly don't really care about updates or privacy. Even with Apple devices. Apple devices are simply a sign of wealth. Sometimes you can get accepted in one of the better companies depending on what device you're holding, which is and always been the iPhone. For most people, Huawei is just simply an expensive Xiaomi/Realme or whatever at this point. It's got nothing special.

If huawei is such a great company there's really no need for trump, google or any american company. Creat your own software, play store, chips and technology. China is the most populated country there's no lack of customers there.

Alex G., 15 Aug 2020Trump destroyed a decent phone company with fairly honest p... moreThey can, bit son't want to do, because, they sells a lot iPhones, anyway..
This year, those iPhones from '12' series, will be cheaper than last years, even some of them more compact, in 2020, even, even, if you wanna good Xiaomi phone, you need to pay, at least 300 euros (for Mi Note 10 Lite, or Mi 10 Lite, for example), those Resmis bang for bick times are in history...
So, iPhone 12 for 549$? Maybe will be ok deal, at least because of camera quality.

Trump destroyed a decent phone company with fairly honest prices and good features so that Apple can get some market share, because they can't innovate otherwise.

[deleted post]At this point don't expect Biden to change anything IF he wins. The investigation against Huawei started under the previous administration with no trade war and now other countries are siding with the U.S.. I don't expect Biden to just give up that leverage. I rarely listen to him speak at all, but I have not heard any liberal media reference any criticism from him towards trump on China or Huawei.

I really like Huawei's mobile. I want Huawei's relationship with Google to be the same again. Huawei is a very loving device.
