Anders, 18 Aug 2020Yes exactly. All the people criticising Trump for giving Ch... moreGoogle wasn't banned from China. They had to agree to the Chinese laws to operate in China but didn't agree to do so. However, certain institutions (e.g. educational institutions) are still permitted to use Google.

Anders, 18 Aug 2020Yes exactly. All the people criticising Trump for giving Ch... moreThat's probably because those who are criticising it at least know the difference between China kicking out US services from their territory only and US globally banning Chinese companies from doing business with all companies that have any sort of connections to US government, companies or technologies. Completely different scale and consequences, a typical example of an apple and orange comparison.

The US going to great lengths to impede Huawei means that they're so terribly afraid of them. This implies what Huawei can do is better than anything the US will ever do and they're childishly trying to impede their progress. How typical.

Now there's an incentive for non-US companies to produce equipment that can compete with the US made one. Huawei will buy it and make their own fab in China.
This banning stuff is only going to delay the inevitable I'm afraid. The end result will be a backlash towards the US economy as the equipment will be competed out of the market.

[deleted post]Go to China and watch for yourself the kind of state system they run there. Believing a Youtube video is the same as believing anything coming out from places like 4chan

Good, excellent move! Give china a taste of their own medicine, as ccp-paradise-of-freedom- on-earth, has implemented since long time ago bans to outside apps and services, very good indees, now it is time for other countries to capitalize from it, namely, India in first place, hopefully many other countries will profit on this

Huawei have no GMS, and now K... moreAmerica and China's reasons are the same however you listed them only for China
1. They want to be independent
2. Don't want to rely on outside sources
Also 3. They don't want their country tampered with

Anders, 18 Aug 2020Yes exactly. All the people criticising Trump for giving Ch... moreThe difference is China is a dictatorship. The US is supposed to be the land of the free, and restricting their citizen's freedom of choice is, yet again, another step towards being like China and Russia. The question here is, do we want the US to start being more "dictatorship-like"? Or keep being free?

And if you want a like for like comparison Trump wants to ban tiktok, and the Leftists are crying over that too. Where's that energy when it's China doing it? They love commies so they get a free pass it seems

One is physical and another is Internet/software. (Although it can be bypassed by VPN)
US wants to stop the distribution of US processors to China, specifically those entangled with it's government.

As an American, I don't understand the login in buying PARTS as a threat to National Security. It's one thing to not want parts or services from Huawei but not letting them even BUY parts that won't be resold to the US? WTH...

s, 18 Aug 2020Still much less than the number of companies banned in China Yes exactly. All the people criticising Trump for giving China a taste of their own medicine never seem interested in criticising China for banning Google, Facebook etc. Nah it's ok when China do it, but it's mean to do it back to them

Why is Chinese Communist Party in quotation marks?
Is GSMarena suggesting that China isn't ruled by a communist party? Because they definitely are. That's what CCP stands for

Monopoly again? Very unfair.
Huawei have no GMS, and now Kirin chips? I would be okay if they make inferior chips like the Exynos like Samsung since it isn't fair. But Kirin chips are on par with Qualcomm's chip per gemeration. They in fact have better power efficiency, AI, ISP, and gave Huawei more control. And it is cheaper than Qualcomm's chips.
Imagine if Huawei don't get through all this trouble, then they can keep setting new standards for the industry and pushing competition further. Trump is amazing. If the Kirin 1020 is more powerful than the 865 than be ready to be pissed off.
If you care about Huawei's national security threat, then just put an America chips inside it to spy on them. Even Tiktoks and Wechat are banned. That's why China also bans Google, FB, Instagram and other American services in China. It is all the matter of trusting each other. If no one trusts each other, keep framing each others, it will only make matters worse when they need each other. World states at 2014 is fine. When Trump becomes the President, everything becomes bad. Tge world is losing one of the best 5G providers. Customers also losing one of the best smartphone companies of choice. Tech enthusiasts also loses excitement.
China too, why ban America services? For China's reason i can tolerate it
1. Want to be dependent of itself
2. Don't want to rely kn others.
But America's reasons, i can't accept it.
1. Spyware?
2. National securith threat?
There's no evidence lf it yet. Even if they do, people care less. Since most services also requires you to have your information be gathered by them.
Hope the World returns to a place where everyone trusts each other. No more framing and get back to where you are. Framing, not trusting and banning will just make matters worse. If they work together then the world will be sure an better place. Peace and better humanity life is achieved if the largest 2 enemies be friends of each other (America and China in this case). If you are scared of China eating your local companies then up your standards, not by unfair doings!
