Anonymous, 25 Aug 2020You mean able to regain its lead over snapdragon againexactly. these dumb trend followers were silent 5 to 8 years ago when exynos was better than snapdragon

That's a right step because for me as a Note user since years, I would prefer to keep my note9 and get Fold 2 instead of getting Note 20 Ultra and when S Pen comes with Fold phones then nobody needs Note smartphones

It's possible that Samsung release a mix of the S and Note Series, since Note users have to wait for 5 months after the S Series to get the next generation of the Note Series. Plus thus puts double the strain on the S Series, almost ensuring that there is too little time to fine tune the cameras, other hardware software for the S Series.

Samsung can release the S Series and Note Series almost simultaneously, each year, so that people cam chose a phone with or without a stylus. Plus it would allow the whole development team of Samsung to concentrate in a single device, fine tuning all aspects, much better.

Samsung should also try and pick up a few people from the Apple SoC team. It would help them improve on the ARM chip architecture.

Well, I hope they keep the Note design as I don't like the S20 Ultra design. The Note 20 Ultra design is much more stylish and boxy. Also they should use a better chipset worldwide.

Since the Galaxy S series now has three variant, they could have use the top-ranging Ultra variant as the Note replacement. After all, the recently-released Note20 Ultra is not any significantly different than the S20 Ultra except for the S Pen. Same story with the Note20 when compared to the S20 and S20+.

I think, it makes a bit of sense. The evolution of mobile processors feels like it's plateauing, which means it'll get harder to justify launching flagship devices every 6 months. Splitting the candybar and flip/fold launches might rejuvenate the market. It'll at least put a fundamentally different pressure on Apple's autumn launches when they're suddenly matched against next gen devices.

I have been a note user for a long as they have been around.

I'm not keen on the durability of Samsung's folding screens at this stage particularly given their price - The Microsoft Duo interests me more than the risks of the folding Samsung - the current Duo specs as they have been leaked are underwhelming so I will probably soldier on with my Note 10 and see what the second generation Duo comes out with or consider the S21 ultra if my current Note "dies".

Too many lines of premium segment obviously cutting each other and eventually finding it to support long term. With Foldable ones slowly taking reign Note and Galaxy series need to be pushed as not so premium ones. But the word Ultra coupled with inferior specs for the other variants can keep the public perception in favour of expensive ones! These $2500-$3500 foldable magic mobiles won’t have many takers unless it helps people in robbing cash from Banks.

I'd say for regular people it'll be better but for us tech savvy guys it won't I always liked the choice between the best of the best and the bigger than the best with an spen it's bassicaly do you want the best or do you want the same but bigger and with an s pen?
As for the fold thing I think it'll be even more expensive which is bad but the s pen might help it
Bassicaly it's interesting but not necessarily good

I use note series devices since the note 3, I like the s pen very, very much, but, if the s pen will be available only on the fold series, that is a really bad thing for me, I definitively will not buy a folding device, no way, first, they are very expensive, and second, the foldables are not really mature yet, I dont know if they have resolved the thing about the thin and delicate screen, because as it is now, I doubt that it will resist the continued use of the s pen on it, I was really excited about the models for the next year, the new exynos SOCs with the amd graphics and the Direct partnership with ARM look very promissing, but this rumor about the note series disappearence makes me really, really sad..

I find this a little disturbing. I'm not one of those people who uses the S pen so I never bought a phone from the Note series, especially because of their high price. Now to enjoy the most advanced device in terms of cameras I will have to buy a note. I'm pretty sure Samsung will differentiate the device by giving it the fastest processor and the best camera array besides the pen.

The Exynos may finally be able to match or even outperform the Snapdragon in 2021 but fingers crossed for now

On top of that, unless the AMD deal to make custom GPU for Exynos is going to happen, then Samsung is going to die for sure.

Sad to see that Samsung was the king of Android like HTC used to be. Apple was a flop with the trash iPhone 6, 7, 8, and X. Now Apple has been a huge success. Not to mention Chinese ex-copycats like Xiaomi now innovate something on their own.

The Note was revolutionary, special, and a benchmark for Android, even several other OEMs tried to copy it. If it is killed for sure, then Samsung will be left with nothing.

If they replace the Note line with the Z fold only Samsung will cannibalize their own sales no way this is happening even if S21 ultra comes with s-pen support the profit from the note line cannot be replaced by that of the Z-fold
