I'm afraid that without TOF sensor or laser focus assistance Xperia 5 II will have the same focusing issues as its predecessor. I'd say that Xperia 5 has the worst flagship priced phone I ever had in terms of camera focus and consistency. Anyway, I won't buy another expensive flagship phone with glass back and missing wireless charger again. Sick and tired of it.

But I would love that as a preorder bonus and it would increase the chances I would buy Xperia 5 II instead of competition.

Keep your expectations in check. If the rumoured 4000 mAh battery turns out to be the real deal, that would be great for this form factor.
Actually, if they price it sensibly (€700-€800 or if they couple the WH-1000X M4 as a pre-order bonus at €900 max.), this will be my next phone.

Even when you compare something old like a Sony VA compact to this one, you will see incredible difference in photo and even video quality.
Pictures taken with a phone theses days are good, but they still lack behind a decent compact ... let alone DSLR.

And distorted views as well as hard to write on surface for stylus.

Qualcomm was behind the curve with its SoCs not supporting 120 Hz screens.
Sonys LCD screens were ahead of its time, feature disablead bcause the SoC not supporting it left too much glitches and problems for enduser to endure due to no proper Qualcomm driver support.

At 68mm, sure it's compact. But at this height, this isn't going to exactly be a one-handed phone for reaching the top of the screen. And before you all come charging at me for using the one-handed mode, I don't think it to be much of a solution as what's the point of having a large with empty space around the screen?
I think Sony's 21:9 screen ratio will hinder it from making a proper 65mm compact phone. 65mm width, some 130mm height is a proper compact phone. For me, the design of the original Moto X and the XZ1 Compact is ideal. They looked subtle, were compact and ergonomic. Would actually prefer vessels bezels and navigation buttons on them for a full screen experience.
