    Even sony midranges (XA and 10 series) still have same 54Mbps 4K@30 of flagships, it is higher than the 4K@30 from Apple, Samsung and Google offer.

    Bitrate is choice of who is using. It is about heat mostly. Sony cameras get critics because except new A7s3, all other are 100Mbps. Some Canon older cameras can do over 400Mbps.

      Same 4K example we can see is on Kirin SOC devices - low bitrate, they tried higher and it was stutter-fest.

Because majority of scaled down or smaller version of phone like this get nerfed in their chipset. Besides, the deviation of the performance is not extreme between SD865 to SD865+.

          Months ago I saw a post about a new type of screen.
          It was 1080p but they did something to it (adding more blue) and it ends up with same ppi as 4K. I suspect is for sony because the person used 3840x1644 as example to compare with.

          Person also said true 10bit + 120Hz + 21:9.

          I believe this phone has this new type of display ....

Only clever programming / post-processing can cheat physics (optics), nothing else. So Sony simply forgot laws of physics or just didn't learn their lessons at school.

              Wow, it has the same battery capacity as the bigger 1 ii.
              The specs actually sounds nice.
              It's whether you like super high resolution or fast refresh rate then.

                Samsung uses 80Mbps. Xiaomi uses 100Mbps. Do not know about LG.
                Just as example, the 4K@60 from Sony is 90Mbps and over 100 from iphone 11 pro.
                The 8K shpuld be at least 170Mbps for usable quality.

                Sony uses HLG. This format is like raw. Made for editing (mainly gradation) not for uploading after being recorded. Some do not know that and complain about flat colours and exposure.

                    4K@120 is similar to 8K@24-30 in terms of theoretical bandwith and we all know how does 8K looks on most mobile phones - cropped, choppy, no EIS etc.

Perhaps your suggested price would be fair - no wireless charging again, possibly focusing issues due to missing TOF sensor, no face unlock (no second good biometric unlock opinion).

                                    But the most is because the Alpha software.

                                    Remember the cameras do not have ToF, but still faster AF than any cellphone.

                                      2) we do not want designs used by One Plus 8 Pro and HTC U20 ..We want to look and recognize as Sony phone.

It seems that they wanna be in this competitive business. Also Sony doesn't have talented programmers and probably don't want to accept the fact that clever computational photography is the only way to go for tiny lenses / optics, they came up with brilliant idea - spoof fanboys / pro photographers enthusiasts with Alpha like photo apps :).
