Sony needs to step up its game on security updates. Make sure they come monthly. Provide updates for more than two years (which is their current policy--and that's only on flagship devices).
If they could provide security updates for longer than Google's three years, more like Apple's five years (and often Apple continues support even longer), then Sony would have a selling point no other Android manufacturer has.

Direct competition in the same release-window with similar specs would be Galaxy S20 FE, which is rumoured to cost about 700-750 €. I would like to go with the 5 Ii, if Sony is in the same price-range. Hope they will not mess it up.

Like Majority of Sony image sensors, it's sold/licensed publicly to every manufacturer.

Xiaomi uses ALL your data for targeted adverts, but people are fine with it because its cheap and full of bloatware

Son... moreits pretty clear Sony is not after mass market anymore, its about showing tech and providing more flexible camera capabilities to a niche, which makes sense if your business for mass market was failing so u spend less on marketing and production for other regions which costs a boatload. Sony will never compete against the likes of Xiaomi since its doomed to fail based on production costs alone, its entitled people who expect everything to be cheap and fall in their lap that should grow up and move on? Dont need dont buy?

You start counting at year 0 and go to year 9. Reason being is because even though the year is 0, the days within the year aren't at 0. This is also why we call the century the 100 years prior to the number (19th century is 1800's, not 1900's).
1st century is 0-99. 1st decade is 0-9. Otherwise you'd have the year 2000 in the 19th century and that's silly.

Also use front... moreMost (but not all, of course) of them are the prime examples of "Nobody cares who does it first but it's all about who does the best" or "Poor implementation of features that attracted nobody" or "They were too ahead of the curve and nobody found it valuable". For instance, the bokeh feature of Z2 you mentioned was there for the sake of being there and it was literally unusable thanks to high failure rate and laughable edge detection. M8 did a slightly more decent job with it then we started to see a big progress from Honor 6 Plus.
You can't take all the credits for things you did a poor job with when others do them better just because you did them first. They deserve *some* praise for introducing the ideas to the market first, but those "copycats" should deserve more if they take them to a usable level that general users can appreciate.

I'm definitely interested in buying this phone. Sony's devices tick all the boxes for me: solid build quality, good battery life (with Stamina mode), waterproof, audio jack has returned, lots of memory that is expandable, compact enough (not comparing to the previous Compact line), clean software. The cameras are just a bonus in my mind and I know how to navigate the pro apps since I use Sony cameras.

Sony comes to the market after 6 months with close configuration as Samsung but samsung already reduces the price of their phone so buying a sony seems like a bad idea. then again, sony doesnt reduce the price like samsung do so they never get to the same number of customers. not just top quality products, marketing and pricing strategy plays a big role in selling devices. when would sony understand this?

LDAC does not minimize any issues - it's uses three quality presets, that's all.
HWA is more than comparable to LDAC, AptX HD it the same licence parody as LDAC is (sadly).
Not to mention :D "You don't have that"? Dude where have you been for the last 3+ years, every newer phone supports LDAC, every phone. You might wana take blinders off and take a look.

LDAC is 100000x than any crap solution from Qualcomm. It will minimize the issues of bluetooth.
You envy because you phone does not have , just tech copied from other brands.
The ppl that bash sony more are users of samsung and xioami phones, the biggest copycat mobile companies.

Have seen the 21:9 screen, feels almost impossible to use horizontally like when browsing and using keyboard, also sony got quite a bezels so body stretches and its hard to move with that in pocket. Bezelless 18:9 is basically similar to old phone with 16:9 and bezels, how I miss that ratio in new phones(I'm still at 16:9, maybe mateX2 will be the option.).
