And no SDR->HDR is terrible, LDAC is one two/three identical codecs in quality (wallgated by Sony, THX sony ... seriously, the lack of LDAC transmiters is aweful), side FPS does not work on Xperia 5 - GJ with that inovation, AR was not Sony first, there are much better battery saving solutions than Qnovo.

So we came to a conclusion that was writen in this discusion already - old benefits, no benefits a few of excelent one, but hardly "pedestal" worthy.
The best thing about Sony mobile division are sensors that other brands use and archive excelent results with. I am confident that next generation of Xperias MK3 will match or seriously excede any competetion in image quality of wide camera (if the current trend would continue).

- all screen are calibrated, but not all phones let you adjust RGB levels according to you taste. From 0 up to 255 for green, red and blue. By the way, no android phone comes with best calibration out of factory.
- does not matter if X was locked at 60. Hardware is there. It was the first. Phones did not have sided FPS before 2015.
- HTC had depth cam to do bokeh, Sony could do same without it .. M8 is 2014 too.
- SDR to HDR. I am talking about cellphone, not tv ....
You are jealous because samsung only copies other since s5 and xiaomi does nothing new. Got credits for using design from sharp 2 years later than sharp sold their phones.

Nothing has changed since.
865+ still has same 4K@60 limitation according to Qualcomm website.

It was a re-mappable shortcut button to certain apps like you saw on the teaser of Xperia PRO last February.

gsmarena likes to write about xperia with some added colors (e.g. "but xperia still has bezels") to get more traffic... they are happy about it for sure...

With Xperia 5 II uses 120hz display while Xperia 1 II uses Motion Blur reduction, I hope the Xperia III next year will combine both to work just like the newest ASUS TUF monitors. Combining HRR and Extreme Low Motion Blur with something like Adaptive V-Sync will become ELMB Sync which is a very innovative feature as per Linus if I remember correctly.

Sony also said that they aim for a complete fusion of how to integrate the smartphone and camera. Sony is the only company in the world that has a full-fledged smartphone and camera business. Sony plans to significantly increase development investment in smartphone business and solutions for cameras and professionals, and strengthen the development in the short and long term.

Even XA series has the hardware.
Point is. You cannot have 4K and 90/120 together working (blame qualcomm).
Pointless to give 1080@120, because it will use more power also would be very stupid to use this mode if you have paid for 4K screen.
It is like buying Dell Alienware laptop to end up using browser and office only or 8K tv if you connection only allws you to stream Full HD.

Any clues? Camera chips I would not count - since Sony is the biggest but far from the only one.
Not to mention they were sold out because there were no units to reach local distribution, not because they were selling like hotcakes. Kinda lucky I can get numbers out of the second biggest "it" store in my country.
