Xiaomi teases sub-€300 Mi 10 phone with 5G connectivity, "brand new" Snapdragon 700 chip

01 September 2020
This means not the 765/768, the only 5G-enabled chips in the 700-series. And definitely not Poco X3's Snapdragon 732.

5G is not going to be widely available for years, and I am fine with 4G speeds. I could use some cheaper data plans and maybe Xiaomi could throw us some damn wireless charging, in more than one phone per year?

I am fine with an antutu of 200.000, no need the monster 600.000++. But it matters if you plan to keep your phone for more than 3 years, it is then when you will notice the difference.

Finally some cheap 5G phone for markets other than china/india. Hope global availability fast after launch

You know what...? The 700 G series snapdragon is perfect for the moderate gamer. It is absolutely perfect for the premium mainstream smartphone. Why? It is more than enough for AI processing for high quality camera use. Both video and photography. And the SoC is overkill for social media and general web use. To be honest. The 700 series is more than enough for most users. It's actually a bit overkill...

Flagship devices are a different ball game... However the 700 series makes an excellent SoC for gaming. One that is perfect for the moderate gamer and someone who is new to gaming.

The phone with a 700 series SoC is the fork in the road... Do you go to the left...? And eventually upgrade to a flagship device aimed at having a good camera?

Or do you turn right...? And just go nuts like me and get a flagship gaming phone...

I am very pleased that there is a choice of 700 series SoC's. This is good... As I cannot justify having a A14 in an iPhone 12 for someone who only uses the camera and social media... And when they game... Throttle and heat gate once again... Looking at Anandtech info of the A14... To me it seems like Apple are going to have some cooling issues and throttling problems... Again. Anyway... I really think Apple have an unbalanced phone. Not impressed. I mean. The SoC is really for the camera... But as you can see Android have far better cameras... So I really don't know what Apple is playing at... And gaming on iPhone... Is a joke. For those out there with gaming phones... You know exactly what I mean. Mind you. If your camping. An iPhone 12 would make a good stove after a gaming session...
