T-Mobile's LG Velvet is powered by the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 1000C chipset

03 September 2020
The SoC got official today, and it's unclear why T-Mobile chose to forego the Snapdragon 765G.

I've had T-Mobile's version of this phone now for about 8 months lots of issues number one can't use 5G there's a bug somewhere in it of course no help from LG or T-Mobile not surprised. The media tech processor is fast everything works good but as long as you don't use 5G. One other issue is that it does not support wifi6. But why even bother if you can't use it I don't get it and still waiting for Android 13 when and if that will show up we'll see fingers crossed

KondriX, 04 Sep 2020Looks like nowadays people are buying phones just for games... moreNot really. There are definitely people out there who buy phones just for games, but surely majority out there are looking for a phone which offers the best price-to-performance. A phone which is good in both games and typical day to day tasks.
Snapdragons are usually better than Mediatek, but at the same time, more expensive and therefore, Mediatek's Dimensity series fits in that "price to performance" role.

This is amazing by Mediatek. Yet another 5G chipset which looks quite cool and even the LG smartphone looks quite awesome.

Is this a dual-screen smartphone as well? I think the choice of new Mediatek Dimensity processor is really brilliant.

Another great addition to the Dimensity chipset series. MediaTek has been doing an amazing job with its Dimensity series and I am excited to witness the chipset in action. It will undoubtedly be extremely powerful

The sad thing I'm seeing on mobile gaming forums are people drooling over the Samsung Flip/Fold so they could multiwindow their mobile/gacha games. Most don't even need the latest and greatest and are just autoplay wallet burners which would work on any LG dual screen phones.

My phone has 3000 more, means it's faster.. Faster at that? An opening an ap 0.0005 seconds faster? But it has higher numbers and that means better, faster, harder. Users are brainwashed with marketing gimmicks and corporations knows that. If you really are a gamer buy yourself a Xbox, PS, or a good PC, your experience will be much more enjoyable. Gaming on phones is.. :(
