Cheers!well, the autonomous cars do have eyes, sort of..., i'm one of those who design them, and they do actually look for moving 3d object and try really hard to recognise them: cars, trucks, bikes, poles, trees, people, kids... but do not look to identify them in detail and focus on their faces. that is the dif between eye tracking in photography and object tracking.

          Both work superb on any Xperia.

              If its not on a Sony it must be better, even tho Sony developed and further enhanced the feature up to date.

              My 4 yr old object tracking AF on X Performance works flawlessly, better than any othr phone I compared it to date.

                Yah, its still a common feature on Xperia devices, along with more precisional Eye autofocus.

                  The internal components were redesigned to fit more battery, Qi coil , larger camera and ToF.

                  5ii is thicker than 5, it is about 8mm (not counting camera bump).

                      I was just wondering if the display size is the same. How did they fit an extra 1000mAh on the device of almost same dimension? 1000 mAh is a big difference. Im not so optimistic on the 4000mAh battery

                              It relies on Analog to Digital Conversion like imx555 (s20) for faster readout.
                              In theory, s20 should be able to do all this too, but samsung does not know how to do it.

                              Imx310 (Alpha 9) is so powerful that only sony videocameras can use it is whole power. Much features are locked for A9/9ii ....

                              Smaller sensors are faster, but phone can do 20fps @12MP, while camera does @24MP with larger sensor. Still giant difference.

                                It know when it does not have eyes and lock on the whole subject .
                                Pixel cannot even using AF in this case.

                                  In theory, this one should be same price of s20 ($1000)
                                  But considering some cuts (ToF, Qi and design) , I expect $900 .....

                                  Just like 1ii : Japan gets 128GB, international is 256GB.

                                    Xperia 1 II was an almost perfect device for me. Looks like the Xperia 5 II will be the perfect one, as I expected.

                                      entry price of xperia is always "steep" especially to those who justify that other brands have more "value"... wait for a year for a large pricecut... like xperia 1... to import one it takes 50k pesos... now that it takes only 35k pesos (1040usd down to 730usd)
