I said the stupidity "of the underdisplay camera", not "of peoples liking underdisplay camera".
And actually THAT is what is stupid, peoples not even able to comprehend a simple sentence who try to debate with my, because they do stupid things like considering their OPINION as more important than facts.
You know what is stupid ?
Peoples who fight any rare, dangerously endangered or proposed features, that many peoples happen want, just because it isn't "what they personally like"...
And not just stating they "don't like it", which is fine.
But being totally opposed to the idea that a device with something else than their own preferred features exist, that is stupid, because not only it literally won't change anything to them if said phone were to be made, but peoples who want it would actually be able to find what they are looking for.
Yet they are still aggressively insisting about how it should not exist under any circonstances.
THIS, is stupid.
Being exposed with facts with proofs and exemples and still not changing the totally erroneous view of the reality they have is also stupid.
Debate me with constructive criticisms, on a respecting tone, with arguments and not ignoring facts and having real counter arguments against my own facts than your personal beliefs, which basically describe a normal conversation between two average peoples, and I won't consider you as stupid, but anything less than that, which IS a stupid behavior, and of course I'll consider you as stupid.
You probably have not the slightest idea what I am doing here, yet you try to judge it, you know what this behavior is ? I'm sure you do.

Taking sneak pics doesn't require to take 50Mp ultra high quality shots.

People forget that in order for the front camera to record photos, videos, etc. the area above the screen has to be turned off. So if someone wanted to spy on you it would be very noticeable that they are doing so, because a dark area would appear on the screen evidently.

radu, 10 Sep 2020people with kidsYes, peoples with kids are another reason to have no front camera, because as much as you don't want your image being stolen and abused, you certainly even more don't want it to happen to your kid, manly considering how persuasive some adults can be over the internet, bad things can easily happen.
A phone with no front camera would be way safer for kids.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2020You should write them a letter! I don't think you realize the number of unread or ignored emails and letters big companies receive, publicly writing my opinion actually have a greater effect than directly communicating with them.
Plus, I'd like peoples to realize the stupidity, cons and dangerously anti privacy aspects of front camera and underdisplay camera in particular.

1 : There are a lot of persons who does take selfies or do video calls and who don't need, and for many don't want a front camera.
2 : Who really do video call on smartphones ? I've never seen anybody doing it, there are desktop and laptops computers, and tablets who have a larger display which fit way better the use than the tiny display of a smartphone.
3 : No front camera does NOT mean you can't still use the main camera + the display, many options exist :
* Second display on the back.
* External displays, like a Smart TV or a computer.
* External camera, either wired or Bluetooth.
* Using a mod, such as this : https://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gadgetlab/2010/06/ishotmyself-660x369.jpg
Which in the context of a video call wouldn't bother anyone.
* Using provided accessories, it would be easy to have the equivalent of this :

But foldable and integrated on the back of the case provided with the phone, this is cheap, easily replaceable, non intrusive, can be made easy to use with a sprint loaded, one button push to extend, and one finger pushing the upper mirror to easily store it.
Also the main cameras on the back are always way better in every regards than the front one.
4 : Your privacy is more important than video calls or selfies and front facing camera are an important privacy risk.

But I like this solution also, as long as no notch or punch hole then I'm happy. I suppose in time they will figure out a way to make it even more uniform than this, but it looks quite decent as far as I can see :-)

That's pretty good really. The low resolution area is only around the selfie camera. You wouldn't even notice it due to it's location. Most of the time, it will be showing the status bar. And even when you watch media, you always focus at the center of the screen, so you wouldn't notice any minor flaws in a corner. It would certainly be far less noticeable than a black punch hole or a notch.
