Hate both Apple and Fortnite, but Apple is on the right regarding this. There was a contract. EPIC Games signed the said contract. If they didn't like the T&C, why did the sign it? But yeah, hopefully Apple loses the anti-trust lawsuits popping up in various countries cause the same 30% and in-app transaction rule don't apply to those that Apple are heavily reliant on. Curious to see how the Android side of this plays out.

AnonD-804996, 09 Sep 2020What monopoly? People keep saying this yet iOS has like 1/4... moreIf you city administration only approved burger king to host lemonade stands, what would you call it ?

Nobody ever asked Apple to host their apps on appstore and charge 30% for that, It's just Apple's decision.

iOS grew hugely thanks to developer support, if it wasn't third party apps it would have follow the path of windows mobile (iPhone OS even lacked a video recorder); One of the arguments in favor of iOS is that apps there are more polished, yet people want to side with the company who abuses their position and simply milks the money off platform, rather than reward developers.

AnonD-804996, 09 Sep 2020What monopoly? People keep saying this yet iOS has like 1/4... moreAnd also, no one will want to see this truth. I don't know why, but other than you and me, I didn't see to many people take it like this
      Congratulations, again

If someone wants to sell their products in a phisical store the store deducts a percentage from the actual selling price, shelf space also costs money.
          Simple as that.
          Same with selling online.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2020Samsung will always win. Its number one phone manufacturer.... moreWell... that is not true. It's true that it is first, but in terms of innovation it isn't. They did make foldables but they suck anyway. Note20 Ultra is just a better Note 10 Plus. And S20 Ultra was just an overpriced shit in Europe. Same price, no 5G (most of the expenses come from this shit), and a Exynos 990 (you know it's shit). But they are first only because of their brand and known for making a good not great phone.

AnonD-762416, 09 Sep 2020Developers should stand up, unite and walk away. Next week... moreIt is inevitable and a credible third and fourth mobile OS is very much needed and most likely on the cards anytime from now. People in general are tired of monopolies even if they are great. Apple from now onwards can do only one thing to improve its revenue is by increasing prices, commons, charges, subscription etc...to keep their stock afloat.....and people can’t keep feeding Apple with $1800-$2200! mobiles anymore...Like all others previously bundled after peak, Apple is going to undergo the same! Anyone cashed out of the portfolio will be in great shape

More than half the people didnt understand the greed of Apple and blame EPIC games. Its apples choice how much they charge for the game being on App Store. But apples policies prohibit you linking to payment system outside apple. Thats armtwisting the developers. It surprising that apple was one of the people who sued mircosoft for bundling IE along with windows and called it anti competetive

RealLifePhones, 09 Sep 2020I hope Apple destroys Epic then buys it just to shut it dow... moreWhat monopoly? People keep saying this yet iOS has like 1/4 of worldwide market and the remaining 3/4 is Android. Also Android and GooglePlay are found on bunch of 3rd party devices and unless it's a hacked ROM, every single Android phone also comes with GooglePlay, where Apple is the only one with own devices, own OS and own app store. I see no damn reason anyone can be in a position to bitch about how Apple does their business as much as I wouldn't mind ability to sideload apps or use other app stores. Coz in all honesty, I rarely used that even when I was still on Android because they were flooded with fake and modified apps and wasn't all that useful in the end. People bitching over monopoly on their devices is like complaining you can't buy Big Mac at Burger King and complain over monopoly that Burger has in their own damn restaurants. You also can't just setup your own Lemonade & Burgers stand inside Burger King and start selling shit and not paying anything to Burger King and when they kick you out you sue them for loss of profits even though you damn well know you were in the wrong by selling shit and filling your pockets on their premises.. It's literally that kind of situation here between Epic and Apple.

KondriX, 09 Sep 2020But not 30%, I think it's too much.. If it's too much then they shouldn't have sign the contract in the first place. It's like renting a place then suddenly after few years decide to sue your landlord for charging you that much rental.

This shouldn't even happen in the first place just think about it you can't just use someone else's store to sell your things and not pay anything to them, if they had only stuck with their own website to distribute their game their numbers would be far less only hardcore fans who use android would play and average users would barely know about their existence and not to mention many hackers can make fake copies or upload infested apk files to their own sites which is a security threat to many users and they are already offering 20% discount on their payment system so they are just getting 10% more but this 10% comes at a huge growth oppurtunity I would gladly pay 30% if it meant my numbers can grow much bigger

                                No brain game over money!
Samsung it's only player that win in their battle and was the first they lunch with!

I hope Apple destroys Epic then buys it just to shut it down because the way they went about it is ridiculous. But I also hope Apple loses the antitrust law suit because they are a monopoly.
