Apple One will be the name of Cupertino's subscription bundle

11 September 2020
But you won't be able to pay for Apple One from Android devices - that would mean that Google will take a 30% cut.

Wow, the hypocrisy if real - way to give Epic et al. (further) ammunition in the anti-trust case Apple!

"30% is so fair we refuse to pay it ourselves"

I do not have latest iphone (so the myth that iphone users want only social approval is busted), do not pay any money to Apple services (so this myth is busted too). Had dozens of Android phones and tablets from 150EUR all the way to 800EUR (so the myth that iphone users had only iphones and do not know to use anything else is busted too).

I am just trying to let people know what my experience with smartphones/tablets was. And I am pretty sure, as you say that people see your point of view, there are plenty of people that were in the same case like me and share my point of view. I mean long time Android users, that were disappointed of that OS, and wanted to try something else for a change. And found out what they were missing all this years, staying in that awful Lagdroid system.

There are cameras everywhere and you need a key to pass 2 sets of doors. Also a reception in which you need to state your business in the building, if you are new there and without key.

For all those Apple haters out there that wrongfully think having an iphone is a prison:

I own an iphone, since 3 months already. Is not my first Apple device, even though is my first Apple device I really enjoy (because of IOS 13 capabilities). Had an iphone 8 plus, an Ipad Mini 2 and an Ipad 2018 (I think it was 7th gen) in the past, but sold them after 3-4 months.

I never paid for any Apple subscription. I only had for 3 weeks Apple arcade (which was free), but delete the subscription because the games were poor and childish.
No other subscription or service. My iphone works great, absolutely no lag, latest IOS 13.7, IOS 14 in just couple of months. And I have a 4 year old iphone model.

I usually have 3rd party apps. The only Apple app I use is Safari and I think Shazam (because was bought by Apple). I use youtube, google translate, google maps, yahoo mail, whatsapp, telegram, etc. Still, I prefer to use an iphone (cheap 2-3 year old model), instead of mid-range or low-end Android devices, because of the smoothness of the OS, lag free usage, and latest stable IOS from day 1 of the official releasing. I do not care anymore for specs or other nonsense features.

Since I am an Android user and that my next smartphone will almost certainly be an Android too (except if a better alternative emerge since) as I don't like the iOS ecosystem, I don't see how and why am I a fanboy.

And that's the exact point I was making, both are the same, yet he defend one over the other, literally by thinking in term of "If I don't need it, you don't need it, and that's business, it shouldn't need to do it since it isn't something the majority want" by fighting features he don't want but that other do, he literally defended those exact same behaviors he now is criticizing, I was only pointing out some differences in why it actually make more senses (not being more acceptable, that's a huge difference) in regard of the Apple action compared to Epic, as Apple and Google are direct rivals, Epic have(had) no reasons to be against any of the two as the money they earn will not be used to grow rivals.
Apple and Google probably both do this kind of things a lot between each others, but since they know they are both huge and a lawsuit would be a big headache for nothing, they just accept that the other do it too, it isn't like a patent dispute, but none is more ethic over the other, every big company is ultra greedy by pushing profits way beyond what they need to self sustain their business and I am not justifying that.

Greedy, sure maybe, but don't make it like they the only evil one and Apple can be excluded. You're paying for the hardware manufacturing cost, advertising, support platform, etc. Google itself doesn't make much on Android itself if any, so data harvesting is one of the few ways they do it for Android. And no, PlayStore and other Google service does not count, as vendor can release Android AOSP to their customization even with their own store. You don't even need to use playstore as Android do allow sideload of other app store.

How is that different for Epic? It's Epic's own development and PaaS??? Just because they're the PaaS eco creator, they can be excluded from Google? And just because Epic is only the big one taking them on, it doesn't mean other small developer doesn't have the same issue. There are app that also get charge base on service such as Hey e-mail and Spotify, how do you justify that? Both are charge for their service, not even the app or DLC, but purely PaaS.
