Why is all the questions why isn't getting the 4.0 upgrade. It has better spec than One V but if it gets the 4.0 why would users upgrade to a newer phone like the One V?

My HTC Incredible S received update 4 days ago and it works just perfect ant specs are almost the same like Desire HD (just diffirent procesor) so Desire HD must get ics. But there is one thing at my incredible S ics - its internet, somethimes it laggs and i dont know why...

That whats HTC has learned from Intel (releasing new socket for new generation processor)
They have made quiet a new products for ICS like the One V and Desire V
Both are running ICS out of box and people will buy these smartphones just for ICS than why should upgrade an old Brick

At least they even tried. Samsung isn't any better for excluding a device such as galaxy S(arguably the phone that put samsung atop the tech game) from the update. Not fair.

i don't think that this update is been cancelled for every carrier, only for telus canada!
here it's a facebook post where an user ask to htc if is been cancelled the update https://www.facebook.com/HTC/posts/10151253985273084 and NO IT'S NOT CANCELLED.. this is what htc say.
For example Vodafone confirm the update ;) http://blog.vodafone.com.au/blog/software-update-weekly-wrap-11072012/ "in Testing"

LMFAO....
Wait, a flagship Android (at the time) released with 2.2 and only ever updated to 2.3, won't be getting the latest OS version ??? Customers should be outraged at this kind of abandonment.
Fanboys and tech blogs that openly berate Nokia for not doing the same thing and lying to its customers are just sad little creatures.

You have the same problem with Samsung where the lower end mobiles are throw away items, and many mid range were never made to be upgraded. My personal experience upgrading a note to ICS, which was a shocker, only goes to support the general view any update on any Android mobile will be on a good luck basis. Just reading comments on different mobiles and brands support my own experience that with Android you take your chances. Happy with the hardware, just issues with the OS.

And they wonder why their sales drop in 2012, that's very easy: releasing HTC Incredible S with major display issues (search the web, one of 2 phones had problem with the touchscreen); they simply don't care at all about their customers, and after pushing a simple software update (ICS) one year in the future, now they decided it's best if they cancel it. I wonder who will buy their phones in the future, when you know chances are you will never get any major updates because there will be some new HTC's wich will have to be sold. Very very very SAD for HTC and HTC users in general, I'm glad I sold my DHD and got my self the S2.

I think this is not true. I use HTC Incredible S (the same hardware as DHD) and I recently got the ICS update - ver. 4.0.4, HTC Sense 3.6

AmeerAbbas, 16 Jul 2012I am so happy I sold my HTC DHD long time ago. HTC DHD is a... moreThat's a very good point - I have one of these and was awaiting the ICS update. It's a brilliant phone and I've been very happy with it. My contract runs out at the end of this year and I'll be going with the Galaxy Note 2 instead.
