Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet review

20 September 2020
Lenovo's new 2 in 1 is a versatile package at a great price, but good luck finding one.

I'm using this exclusively as a Chrome OS tablet rather than Android tablet. This is a great device, but IMO the P60T is the main weak point. The keyboard has gotten good reviews but I think it's trash personally. Overall the Duet is still a great value.

I've been thinking for this device ever since it came out but one stupid weakness killed my interest which is the lack of micro sd slot. I mean I understand that Chrome OS focused on the cloud for storage but seriously Lenovo how expensive it is to add that on this tablet.

All those bezels and still no head phone jack.
How is this tablet a no brainer without something as basic as headphone jack!? Why would people rich enough to use wireless Bluetooth earphones consider this tablet?

8 years, not 6.5 years of updates.

iPad 8 looks reasonable but Apple priced their products 25-50% higher outside US. Which doesn't make sense since they're made in China, so it should be cheapest in countries closer to China, which are also among the lowest tax rates. The feeling of absorbing higher price to subsidize the US consumers is why I never consider Apple

At this point, I wonder why I would even want to buy an Android tablet like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 or S7+. While I never been a fan of Chrome OS in the first place, Chrome OS in a tablet makes a complete sense.

When this was announced at the beginning of the year , I thought that I would queue around the block for this item. Now in mid September , being based in the UK , it's almost impossible to get hold of , even at inflated UK prices , even Lenovo isn't beyond pricing the Duet at inflated prices £299 (385 usDollar ) for the 64gb model . I have seen the 128gb model on 1 site at £350 (450 usD ) Price comparatively makes me want to refuse to purchase anything from Lenovo! Had great hopes for the Duet !

Ipad 8 might be a good alternative, but it doesn't come with the keyboard case.

                          Much better processor
                          Better materials (I think)
It's apple's cheapest product, without many compromises
Its the same price as the ideapad
                          Ipad OS is arguably better
