Huawei does not sell phones in the US, and US only banned Huawei when it's global market share is seemingly climbing to the top and Huawei was way ahead compared to other companies in 5G research etc. Else, why didn't US ban every other Chinese technological companies for national security threat? Why does Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo get a free pass while Huawei gets specifically targeted?

Why not ask USA to stop depending on China for manufacturing and see what happens to Apple. Plus Apple was the one that started notches, which was a stupid idea. Samsung, Huawei and everyone else jus copied it, tho recent Huawei phones are having punch hole selfie cams instead.

That should be the way to go. Meizu used to do this, and sony is obvously is still doing it. But i want huawei to do it because since huawei ascend mate 7 until mate 10 pro, i was using huawei and am very satisfied, until they started mainstreaming the ugly notch with chin design, pppfueee...

Im Asian not in china, as government employee to our country, Chinese tech and apps is a huge concerned to us. Chinese hacking is not a big secret anyone.. A regular person is not concerned about national security because they feel they dont have anything to lose if their data was stolen.. But for a single pic or text message, it may become a huge impact to a military or govt personnel.. China keeps monitoring huge amount of data to other country citizens to impose soft power, like give fake news and propaganda to Chinese owned apps..

It's about security, but not for the security of the avarage Joe, it's about the security of the billionaires. They don't want to loose those billions, they want more. The "deep state", the real leaders. In the moment China have made their own chips, better phones, got the biggest banks etc, immediately we saw a concern about human rights, bio security, surveillance etc. Before that no one gives 2 cents about the life in China, conditions of workers etc.

Look, while the numbers dropped considerably there are lots of Huawei phones still being sold here in Asia and Europe. Tell me how hard it is for a security or intelligence officer to walk down to the shop to buy Huawei phones and bring it back to the lab to test it. Weirdly even after 2 years of ban, we never heard of such a case makes you wonder is there any security concern at all.
