I was looking to purchase one of these devices, but..... as usual, there is always something that is a let down with Microsoft and Windows Phone. The question is, Should I buy this device, when they release WP9, will I have repurchase all may apps if the WP8 apps are not compatibile with WP9....hhhmmmm. Seems like I would have buy new apps(the same apps) each year!

Stephen Elop's main job at Nokia, is run the company into ground so that Microsoft can buy it. Well , he is doing a fantastic job !!

But, do we really need all that? is a true question. That is precisely why, iPhone is a hit. We need a good package of software, hardware, and app ecosystem.

I see WP8 as having the potential to take Android market share in particular. It will have far greater business security and full MS Office integration. For the first time ever the mobile phone user will be able to have proper access to their work documents on their notebook, etc WP8 has the potential to be a game changer and finally address the business market which has never been done successfully. Hopefully they will not have the sinister spyware of Android and Apple.

keep on babbling your mouth about wp8? did you ever try to use this os to keep on judging? you better wait to released this os and its supported device before posting and then you can now judge/post whatever you want to say!

In the end, it's what will you do with the phone. What you need and what you want. If android fits your needs and wants then go for android. If windows the windows. I still stick with symbian because it fits my needs and wants. So go for what you feel.

I stand corrected. Although, admittedly, I have never studied electronic at college, having chosen to study computer science instead, so who am I to comment?

Seriously though...all phones have strengths and weaknesses...why get so angry about them?

Windows isn't the problem with Nokia phones. Nokia phones are overpriced. Look at the Lumia 900. It's a single core 1.4ghz phone with Adreno 205. The same specs as numerous phones like the Xperia Arc S but the Nokia cost nearly twice as much. That's ALWAYS been Nokia's problem. They take a low-end spec phone, put a Nokia brand, and price them to compete with high-end phones.

We are not just talking about features here, we are talking about capabilities. Do you know the difference between the words capability and features. WP8 has much more capabilities than Android as it uses the Windows 8 Kernel and hence limitless possibilities on WP8 platform. This is not the case with Android. Problem is poeple dont know what WP8 is and its capabilities.

WP8 will fall hard to the ground. Android already have all those features. Android is just better just deal with it. The app are expensive on wp market. in android you have the choice to have free app with ads or buy the app without ads cheaper than ios and wp. In android we have choice

Human tendency is to buy something that is the best. Considering OS Capability, WP8 will be the best and who would not want to buy something that is good when its available.

Their will be more than one winner, as just like with politics there are at least two parties. I see just Android and Apple, for now. Windows may become more popular in the long term, but my experience of Mango has been an unmitigated disaster! WP8 MAY be better, but popular is another issue. My money is on something previously unknown suddenly becoming popular, but I could be wrong. I DUMPED my Lumia 710 a week after purchase, it just crashed all the time. When it Did work, it served no function that I needed it for.
