Well, I'm an owner of HTC Incredible S which received the official 4.0.4 update a week ago. I have been using an AOKP build for all this time because I love the simplicity of it. But still I decided to install that official update and see how good it is.

I'm really disappointed. It is slow and Sense 3.6 simply doesn't give a feeling of Ice Cream Sandwich. It feels more like Gingerbread but with several UI tweaks. It's really heavy. HTC has to make their UI more light...

But it's really great that we received that update, because.. you know.. source codes for the kernel will be available soon.

Android is not that good in servicing older models..
        bad customer service support HTC...

Apple is much better there in terms of device serviceability, iOS 6 can still support up to the iPhone 3GS.

Considering the phone is over a year and a half old, I guess it's not too bad..

I agree with HTC. I have an Incredible S and I received the ICS upgrade couple of weeks ago. I can clearly say it slowed down my phone.

I don't think anyone would like that. I don't see a big difference in GB and ICS in my phone..so why getting it slowed down ?

It's like saying that the Incredible S & Desire S will neither get an ICS update too. These 3 has an identical specs, though the HD has more rom.

I'm really disappointed with htc. If ur not gonna release an official ics update, at least release the source code for the kernel and let the great developers on xda do their magic.

Well, that has now decided my next phone. Contract runs out in 2 months; next phone will now be the Samsung S3. One X was on the cards, but this had made my decision easy. No more HTC.

Wow what a relief... Luckily I did not get the HTC Desire HD a couple of years ago, else I would have had to go thru all this.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

                                Cheers!!
