Sony Xperia 1 III to come with brighter display and better selfie camera

The resolution and the sensor size of the selfie camera will remain the same.

Sounds like nothing new.
Any commitment to 3 generations of Android update like Samsung did? No.
Better design? New features? Better camera? No. No. No.
Uninspiring UI. Software updates bring nothing new. Dumb design.
Sounds like sell and run scheme.
Another overrated piece of tech beside OnePlus.

      Can't wait

I wonder if the brighter display will give a hit to the battery life. Having a true 4K screen already consumes a lot of battery, a brighter display is another matter.

geek-a-contra, 28 Sep 2020i'm sure there are a lot of people that tend to "... morenot getting the bigger one?
screen brightness and selfie camera are some of youtubers complains, including the reputable ones... it might be "attracting new users" since i am already used to xperia displays, i was just aware when youtubers mention about it and when compared to other phones side by side, like the g8x/v50s of lg...
but i hope, sony thinks about screen burn and retention link to excessive brightness (known to galaxy and lg)... and wont mess up with green tints (like that of oneplus and galaxy)...

It is an easy prediction to make. Sony have a habit of slight upgrades between iterations rather than claims of "all new." So where have the last 2 years of phones not been improved? The dim display and that very strange choice of front shooter (I say strange but look what the Pixel range has)... So if I was to guess what Sony does to the X1iii I would say up the SOC to the latest, up the screen brightness and change the sensors in the cameras especially the quick win of the front one...

i'm sure there are a lot of people that tend to "not buy now and wait for the next better" iteration or whatever. if the defining new features of the future x1 III are a brighter display and a better selfie camera... well.... i'll let the others wait for it and i'll go for the current 5II

though, again, this is me, a matter of personal preferences and a value engineering diagram :)

Finally Sony did realize that their selfie cameras are a joke. What they should also do in my opinion is to put a 12, or 16 MP camera with bigger aperture(1.7 would be awesome), and add 4K recording as well. Samsung flagships have 4k selfie cameras, Sony why not?

I just don't understand sony at all , is brightness big problem to deal with ? Is it hard to put bright one in your flagships ? It is embarrassing they are competing with 2017 flagships
