Apple reportedly had to choose between 5G and 120Hz for iPhone 12 lineup and it picked 5G

Both increase power draw from the battery and having both would have had a major impact on endurance.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2020S20 ultra 60hz vs 120hz test https://www.youtube.com/watch?... moreLet's suppose 1h less per day.
365h per year. That's 15 days.
If you charge just once per day.

I'd rather see extra money of 120Hz hardware/software to be applied someone else.

Even if they had put nothing new in the new one,it still would sell a lot! Marketing at it's best.Almost everyone is buying the brand and logo, not the hardware. Why do they make cases with a cutout at the logo you think?!They are only good in making standard tablets for a decent price. Do you think I can't afford it? Wrong... I do not buy like a sheep,I buy like a researcher..... If it is worth the money,I'll buy it... And don't come with your ancient phone talk from 5y old to me....

Evil, 12 Oct 2020Fanboys(whatever brand) stop justifying whatever the manufa... moreFanboys of any brand will never question their favorite brand. Or jump ship to other brand, that is why they are fanboys.
I had an iphone SE 1st generation. Very much liked that phone on iOS 13. Then IOS 14 came, I updated, and instantly didn't like it. Widgets and app library are a joke. It get on my nerve that the windows were always there when I scrolled all the way to the left or right. Also, battery was depleting faster in IOS 14 (even though I had new battery with 100% health status).
So, I sold the phone and bought an Android one. This is what non fanboys do. Probably next year or 2 years from now, if I will like more IOS 15 or 16, I will buy again an iphone. Simple. Instead, fanboys will rather die than change their precious brand (no matter which one it is). That is why fanboys are the worst kind of people ever, when it comes to gadgets.

vbrntn, 12 Oct 2020Actually, 120Hz only consumes 15-20% more power than 60hz a... moreIt's just using some battery app to measure battery life. Real case use scenario differs so battery consumption increases a lot.

It's very simple, apple know that most of their customers are not gamers (yes the iPhone is well known as a good phone for gaming but from the company's prospective it's not really a huge customer base for them), and most of them don't even know what 60-90-120Hz means. But don't give us some crap about power consumption and 5G... It's a decision made purely on profit bases.

                                    Good haptics (not like iphones)
Bad colours in photos (except pixels)

Doesn't hold their value as good as iphones
                                    Follows the Iphones design
Very huge power consumption on things that don't matter as much to your lives

I don't side with either of them, either have theor advantages and disadvantages.
