just for comparison here's galaxy S21 numbers, to put that number into perspective

"In the single-core test, the Galaxy S21 scored 1038 points, and the multi-core score was 3060 points. In contrast, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon 865+) scored about 960/3050 in the single-core/multi-core test. The Galaxy Note 20 with the Exynos 990 scored 885/2580."

Apple really is generation ahead if not more.

Wow those are high numbers! It's not like the 20% sounds that big but if you actually think that A13 numbers were already really high they even beat note 20 ultra which is year newer phone. And now with A14 the leap is even bigger compared to anything in android world.

Again i see this every year....first bench without phone out yet, on apple are lower so expect when user will test to have more gain, like 25% and on the samsung side...until the phones are out...they have 20% gain but in reality when the phones ship its just 10-15%

If the average consumer apparently won't know the difference of 120hz what makes people think they'll know what the A14 is let alone what it can do?

Also, they want best cameras on the market on a phone, but they make 2 pictures per month with that phone.

Is human psychology at its best. And companies know this and they are basing their marketing strategies on this.
Also, I am 100% sure there are a lot of people who buy expensive gadgets, feel good 2-3 months because of the purchase and the new device, and then, after some time they asked themselves: "Why did I buy this expensive phone with all these features? Because I don't need it". Well, news flash, if you ask yourselves that question, you already lost, and you made the wrong purchase.

But all other iphone 12, 11, XS/XR models uses smaller 1/2.55 inch sensors. They are limited to 4K60. It's not because of the A14.
The telephoto, ultrawide sensors are old with 1/3.4 inch sizes.
Even the ultra wide sensors in Xperia 1/5 ii have 1/2.55 inch sensors.

I'm guessing the iPhone 12 Mini will likely be placed between the SE 2020 and iPhone 11 in terms of battery efficiency.

                        It;s a 6.1'' year of #Apple: 4 devices of 6.1'' size.

I do wonder, how these companies became so big being so stupids ...
They could have easily make a 5.8'' (or lower) version of 12 or 12 pro to offer diversity and reduced price in this Corona pandemic...

Also a14 is targeted towards "SUSTAINED PERFORMANCE" rather than small time peak power.....a13 is not at all a sustainable processer.....it reaches peak power at 6watts and then goes down to 4 watts for sustained performance....so I think a14 will normally run at 4 watts so no performance throttling or any thing....a14 is the most power efficient and sustainable processer in the world...since the a14 based processors are going to be used in MacBooks and imac where sustained performance matters, apple removed peak performance and started a new method of sustained and efficient performance....for details search anandtech about a13 bionic

If i ever decided to go back to ios, i will go with ip 11 instead of new 12 ... not much of an upgrade.. this just incremental.. unless you go for 12 pro max for new camera...but that all it got .. plus my country still dont have proper 5g support.. why spend more? It just a freaking iphone.. even 6s can do a basic task like newer one.

                                      Just my opinion.

Xperia 1 II with same sensor can do it, so that is also not the case.
It's just good'ol Apple choosing not to give their inmates a particular feature.
