01 November 2020
These days the only devices using Tegra chipsets are Nvidia TV boxes, some single-board computers... and the Nintendo Switch.

Fearghast, 02 Nov 2020Seriously, who cares if there are 5 good games on Android o... moreIf you look outside you own region there are some very good Japanese games out there, plus Fortnite, call of duty, asphalt series, PUBG, Genshin Impact & more for English crowds is not terrible... :)

AnonD-940827, 01 Nov 2020I actually wish they came back, as gaming phones. Had a few... moreNo it does not I have Nexus 7 on custom Rom and it is very slow. Comparing to nowadays device it is unusable as it has 1gb of Ram

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2020There's an entire ecosystem of accessories. ROG phone... more Asus sell the ROG Kunai controller for insane US$150 and i presuming that Asus probably only sell a few thousand maybe in a few hundres, that's more than twice the price of playstation 5 controller, yet it does not possess no state of the art features such as resistive adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, high resolution audio via controller, even compare to playstation 4 controller, the ROG Kunai controller 3 times the price, but no specific advantages over playstation 4 controller, also noted that playstation 4 controller can be used on playstation 5 (only for ps4 games) and ps vita, even bravia tvs support it

it's no wonder that the playstation 4 controller sold separately in 50-60 millions unit over the last 7 years and has been in production since 2013 and will be in production for the next 5 years, but ROG Kunai controller 3 probably get discontinued within the next 12 months due to lack of sales

Forgot to mention, the first Xiaomi tablet - the MiPad (1) also uses the Tegra chip. I had one and it was amazing 🥰

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2020There's an entire ecosystem of accessories. ROG phone... moreNo one care, look at the sales.
Plus you can't have hardware and no good games.
You have a potential in ROG, totaly wasted potential.

Syn, 02 Nov 2020They are starting to though. Just look at Genshin Impact or... moreSeriously, who cares if there are 5 good games on Android or iOS. It's patheticly low for any "gaming" platform - not to mention the lack of proper controll scheme does not help in the slightest.
Mobile games are 5 minutes toilet fun, so you have something better to do than just to stare at the door.

Being the masochist that I am, had 3 Tegra devices. An LG Optimus 4X, a Xolo Play tablet and a Xiaomi MiPad. Out of these, only the MiPad was worth it- I think that's still working to date. All the rest have stopped working. The Optimus 4X had crap battery and could double duty as a hotplate and the Xolo Play could barely do basic browsing because of the abysmal 1 GB RAM and stuttered like hell though it was running on almost stock Android. Though I like Nvidia's desktop/laptop GPU-s, the Tegra series were pretty bad. I won't be missing them.

Those are console quality games that are available on all platforms and look and run just as smoothly on phones and has cross save and platform compatibility.

                      Tegra was pretty bad.
Overheated easily and burned battery like butter.

I remember having a htc one x and being jealous of my frinds with Samsung S3, which had better performance and battery life.

it would be interesting if the next gen switch (more than likely around 23) will use tegra system on a chip or not, make sense to use the same system on a chip for backward compatibility on current gen switch for next gen switch, maybe they will use 2020 xavier system on a chip but tegra is simply not popular for tablets or mobiles phones due to power consumption

                              ROG phone says hi.
                              Lol give a better reason.

Had the Nexus 7. Still have it somewhere.

Lollipop update basically paralyzed it but it was due for an upgrade anyway.

Upgraded to a 10" Samsung Galaxy Tab WiFi 2017 on an Exynos.

                                Still rocking that one today.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2020Why can't they make diversify like console type games?... moreThe hardware, just a touch screen, is not there and decent developers won't touch mobile space with a 10 foot pole.
