I'm a Mate 20 pro user with an alarm system depending on Google's cloud notification with other words a push notification.
Even Dahua and Hikvision still rely on the Firebase services, and I don't want to use some consumer/amazon style crap from Dahua subsidiary.

This is definitely a Huawei's fault, they had more than a year to address the issue instead of hope for the best.

        And now, Mate 40 pro - €1200 ))))))))))))) lol
        Mate 30 pro new €450
        P40 pro new €550

The only question I have, what exactly are they smoking?

This NotAnOpinion guy is living in his own fairy tale world lmao. Here in Europe, Huawei was overtaking Samsung in market share up until the ban. And it's with 1 year old flagships. The average consumer doesn't give a f*** if it's not the latest and greatest they see them as cars so that's why their flagships sell quite well since they drop in price nicely and usually have accessories attached.

Wasn't it Huawei that also had a custom File System that gave them a performance improvements in benchmarks?

*Well I just searched about it and found the name, it's called EROFS. They say 20%+ performance VS EXT4, more storage(they say 2GB more storage, they also use "transparent compression with LZ4") and more security.

"They stole from the US. A US company was going to invent it first."
                  :-)

That's insanely impressive. It's a shame the situation the West is giving them.. their devices were hugely compelling several years back and now are next level despite the limitations on the company

This was serious competition to the Galaxy's and Iphone's.

I think it's quite simple to see what Huawei's strategy rn is, since they are lacking in software (when it comes to Google stuff at least), they decided to make up for it with hardware.

So Huawei shipped about 240 million phones and they sold 60 million flagship phones. So 25% is low to you, and we can agree on that.

Apple lumps their budget phone and top-end phone sales figures together, so..... Last year based on shipment figures, Apple's flagship (11 iphone pro max) figured only for 12.6% of their entire shipment... more than 60% of the sales were by their budget models.

Hmmm so your point being? You actually can't start dealing with facts?

Not to mention, Google's phones are available in less than 50% of the world where smartphones are sold. You may be surprised, but the only ones who buy google phones are "techies" living in denial, Americans, and the occasional oddball.

NotAnOpinion, 03 Nov 2020Before the ban, Huawei's consumer products weren'... moreWhat's a fact: You don't know what you're talking about.

Huawei sold more phones around the world than every single US phone company bandied together. Yes, including Apple, Google and... that's about it, I think.
The cheapest model of Huawei's phone for example sold more than the entire portfolio of Google (around the entire world).

I don't know which rock you are staying under, but Lenovo has been used by many government as the go-to brand for many years, even right after they bought out IBM.

With that kind of performance, I wonder how fast the UFS 3.2 would be.
