HMD is reportedly planning to bring back the Nokia 6300 and the 8000 series

03 November 2020
Both will have more smarts than a typical feature phone and 4G connectivity. Whether they'll run KaiOS remains uncertain.

Nokia 6300 was one of the most iconic phones Nokia had ever produced. I had this phone. But this phone heated like crazy.

The saying goes "The horse(nokia) is already dead, why are you still beating it?". Instead if these costly feature phones, why not resurrect querty n900 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N900)with slightly bigger form factor. There is a niche market for it. Dont go for mass-market, thats not your cup of tea right now.

They need to bring back phones with qwerty keyboards, so they are actually usable as phones to type on

These are only for show or just calls

Before switching to Android smart phones, I had used couple of Nokia feature phones for alomost 12 years. Of course, currently I am using Nokia smartphone (Nokia 3). My last feature phone was Nokia E5 with physical qwerty keyboard which I still miss a lot. If Nokia bring back some phone with qwerty keyboard, I will surely buy it as my backup phone.

Would get a 8800 Nokia anyday if made with same stainless steel and aluminium not the plastic one

Meanwhile the Chinese 6300 clones are flooding the market along with 2300 and new 3310.

This might finally stop them tho, if they actually care about it ofc

                            6300!?!?
My mom hold up with her 6300 for 8 years before it died. She loved it so much.

                              LOL

Nokia 6300 was a great device. I'd settle for the same phone re-released with 3G/4G, honestly. I'll keep an eye out for this one..

Filipe, 03 Nov 2020Good news, those were really nice phones. That was the gold... moreyou can call them ugly all you like, but in reality they are the most practical design and shape smartphones can currently be, I did like the phones of yester year better in terms of design, I had dozens of nokias which were all unique, but try doing todays digital life on a phone from 2002! it would literally be impossible in every aspect

Any idea of the OS it will be running on?

I have to say that the Nokia 150 already looks a bit like the old 6300 did. Nice looking phone though.

Kriegsherr, 03 Nov 2020yeah, maybe a N97 style incarnation wont be bad. bezelless ... moreWith top hardware it would be awfully large and heavy device. I'd go for some mid-range, say about 5,5" display and Snap 7XX chipset. With that I could dump my tablet...
