JDK, 04 Nov 2020You think intel will ever beat ARM? LoL such a joke. ... moreDo you even hear yourself? I mean arm is. .ok for smal phones... to tablets, that's abouz it, ARM will never beat X64 in performance. First off all it was not made for that, second it just can't. And ARM is ARM, if apple calls it Bionic cinematic iconic retina ARM, it is still just ARM. You're welcome.

    LoL such a joke.

You always expect the least out of apple products, it's become obvious.

No wonder you put intel chips ahead of ARM macs.

Disappointed by this move. Can’t run Windows, can’t run x86 apps, can’t run x64 apps... Does no one remember the disaster that was the Surface Pro X or the Surface RT/2?

I want to get the latest MacBook Pro 16” but I’m not paying $2,400+ for a laptop with a year-old processor and definitely not for a neutered laptop with a processor that makes it incompatible with 99% of developed apps. Hoped Apple would have just updated the 16” with a 10th-gen Intel processor but it looks like that ain’t happening.

ARM processors are very power efficient compared to x86 processors since ARM is based on RISC architecture where x86 processors are based on CISC architecture. e.g. 2020 iPad Air with A14 bionic scored 4176 on multi-core score of Geekbench and Macbook Pro with i7-1068NG7 scored 4522. A14 bionic has a TDP of 6W where i7-1068NG7 has a TDP of 28W. i7-1068NG7 is Intel's most powerful processors for ultrabooks. As you can see A14's performance is pretty close to that of i7 but it has a much lower TDP than i7. The higher the TDP the more heat the processor generates. I know Intel's 11th gen processors are 30%-40% faster than their 10th gen. But I still think that Apple's ARM processors are going to be faster than that of Intel or AMD.

I'm excited about these new ARM macs.

They should deliver far faster speeds than intel chips, maybe even AMD chips.

The transition takes 2 years to complete.

After 2 years Apple Silicon only Mac's are made.

But Intel based systems are supported for another 8 years.

After 8 years an all new ARM only Mac OS without Intel support without Intel compatibility will made.

Only then you will see a true ARM Based Mac's Power.

But arm like x86, if you need performance, its not hard to think you have active cooling.

Those models won't be cheap. Apple will simply make more money without paying IntelTax and without increasing last years prices (hopefully)
I also hope performance will be so significant that more companies will start thinking about dropping Intel.

                                        Apple ≠ cheap !!!
