I already had telescopic zoom lens on Nokia N93 in 2005.

I doubt that. It would make more sense to use it for a single field of view as prime lenses usually have better quality than zoom lenses. Possibly this technique could be also used for better low light wide angle photos.

Mechanical movement... will suck in dust into the lens if not sealed well, mechanical zoom lens usually have dust problem... especially this is a phone, daily usage expose to lot of dust.

Good idea if it doesn't come with a huge camera bump.
