Bigoke, 08 Aug 2012Since when don't any manufacturer check out the competition... moreHopefully Samsung brings out all those documents of them comparing their products to LG, HTC, Moto, SE and Nokia. I mean they wouldn't just compare their products to one company right? Remember when HTC copied a bunch of stuff from that one company called..... um, no wait, remember when Nokia copied a bunch from that single company..... um, not them either, LG remember when they got alot of inspiration from that one company..... The point is this is the tech industry and companies copy from each other all the time...just maybe not from one single company. Right guys?

Samsung have moved on man, they have a far different and intelligent UI now. Look at crapple, same old UI. iOS6 for the first time playing catching up with Android.

I'm no apple fan but all you need is a pair of functioning eyes to see they made their product with the iPhone in mind and made no effort on coming up with their own design.
The argument that the limited design scope of touch screens makes it inevitable that they will all look alike is bollocks....SE, HTC, LG, etc, all have their own unique design identity.

Samsung UI has changed and they have moved on. In fact very far now ! Apple remained the same. Shame on you cupertino. You're heading to the Microsoft way, not realizing..how pathetic they've become now.

i love the fact the iphone FANBOYS not iphone users make it look like the iphone is going to be the best phone till the end of time hahaha please every company has their rise and fall like when sony ericsson was the top then nokia now iphone dont know whats next maybe samsung, morale of the story dont brag about the iphone because one day its gonna be crap hahhaha

one thing is being inspired by something, and completly other is slavishly copying it... Apple sues Samsung for copying, and while some icons look same theme, they are different... plus, android itself has different working aproach than iOS... it has the widgets and several customizable screens... its not just a menu Apple wants to present...

No way. Samsung compared their products with its rival. No possible way man. How they dare do such thing.
Seriously, are they trying to prove who's a bigger idiot or what?! Of course you, as a competitor are the first one to buy rivals product and compare and analyze it against your offerings. It doesn't have to mean you'll copy it entirely, it just means you try to compare your product with the one from competitor and try to find out what you can improve without doing it the same way. It's how ppl get ideas by combining your knowledge with stuff that others have done already. It's something we call innovation. Apple prefers to call it stealing their "technology".
Proof? Samsung's new "slide to unlock". They had to remove it, but instead of sliding an item inside a slot at a fixed point like iPhone does, they made a circle that is displayed wherever you tap on the screen and then you slide in any outward direction in order to unlock the screen. Frankly i find this one far more convenient and practical, making it even better than Apple's "solution". Well, in your face Apple!
I don't know who's running the patent organization or if judge in this matter has any clue at all, but to me it seems like no one in this matter has even a tiniest grain of common sense. At all.

The majority of phones have looked similar for years, so have cars, televisions, furniture, boats, airplanes etc etc.
What these companies need (especially with all the court cases) are b-i-t-c-h slapping into next year,learn to grow and and realise similarities occur, there are only so many ways things can be done.
With all this that is going on i feel somewhat better using my old 2006 LG.

Now tell us that... morem gonna tell u this. samsung copied i-crap in its GS and a bit in it's GS2 and made succes and reached the top so the korean giants realised that they do not need those silly icons to innovate and here it is thier S3 selling in millions without having nothing related to u're beloved crapple's os.so get over it.

Looking at the industry leader and comparing your product to it. Since when is that copying. It's just like when a sports team or player analysis the best in the field to figure out what they can improve.

I will never understand Apple. This isn't 'we trying to protect our property' issue, Its basically doesn't want competition. I suggest for Apple to go back to the drawing board and create something new. Please,Galaxy S!
First the Galaxy tab, and Galaxy tab 10.1, then they went against htc in England and it didn't pass, then back to Galaxy Nexus, which is nothing similar to the iphone, then they complain about icons, seriously icons! and now UI. I'm still waiting for the product that will put Galaxy SIII 'to shame'

Did not Apple want their "swipe to unlock" to look like "swipe to unlock" on Neonode, and did not Apple want their "pull down notification" to look like Androids "pull down notification" and did not Apple want their iPhones to look like earlier smartphones that used almost no buttons but mostly only a touch-screen?
Anyone is allowed to use a rectangle with rounded corners as the design for their phones...!
Is it really ok that taxpayers money, and courts time, are wasted over the design of adressbook shortcut/icon and the the looks of the phone-icon...?
Apple made more money than any other company so Apple have clearly not lost any money at all, but could actually have made even more money by being the one company that everyone is trying to copy! Maybe Apple should thank Samsung for making the world think everyone wants to copy Apples iPhones!
