15 November 2020
The iPhone 12 mini may push Android makers to build small phones again. Or maybe consumers just want to go bigger and bigger.

You should have made 5.8-6.1 a separate category.

6.1 inch is the perfect fit for me. Owned a S10 and currently using an iPhone 11 and I find the fit pretty comfortable, while fitting in my pocket easily enough. My S20 FE 5G is too tall, but still comfy to hold. There can be black bars in some unsupported games.

My real answer lies between 5.9" and 6.5", but the majority of phones released in this range are too big. If the phone is wider than 72mm it's too big for my taste. I've bought too many phablets to test out and I never carry them daily so I'm all the way done now.

            Huawei Mate 40Pro, 6.76 inches, 115.7 cm2, the widest one, nearly 75mm

I desperately looking for a small phone.
But it should be in my budget.

6.1 is the sweet spot for me.
Any shorter would be damn frustrating, any taller would make holding a bit of a problem for me due to how I hold my device with one hand.

I want to stick to an array of a larger and a smaller smartphone by both Apple and probably Huawei. No replacement planned yet.

                    6.7 to play pabgeeeeee

My current phone is 6,6" and i am admit it is slightly bigger. But when I watch YouTube, playing game it is a great phone.

Hanif Fikri, 15 Nov 2020Smaller display is bad for eyes...i prefer 6.7-6.9 inches..Exactly, I had 5.8", 5.2", even 4.7" phones in the last years. But I have also 6.4", 6.5" and 6.7" phones.
For phone calls, messages and music, compact phones are way better. The minute you start doing something more complex with the phone (like media consumption), those compact phones become useless and I got more eyes fatigue from them.
6.7" is a little bit too much, but 6.4"-6.5" is the best ratio you can get. Especially if you get a phone with a good display.

Nigel, 15 Nov 2020Looks like the majority disagree with you buddy.Just wait for the poll results. That majority you are talking about, will be in the 5.9"-6.5" category. Not below 5.8".

The vote lacks ratio. As of me, I'd like an 6.5" screen with 21:9

For me, 6.4"-6.5" is the sweet spot. I can easily use it for everything (social media, web browsing, movies, etc.), but still not have a very heavy/big phone (like 220-240g).
Everything less than 6.3", for what I do with a phone nowadays, is not ok.
Yeah, a compact phone sits better in the pocket, but in the last 10 months, my phones sat in my pockets maybe 10% of the time. Even so, a 6.5" 190g phone will not tear your pockets or break your hands when using it, c'mon.

Jimbob, 15 Nov 2020Yes, once the Android dogs catch up... a small phone is on ... moreSony is the one of those 3, with the best hardware.

Hanif Fikri, 15 Nov 2020Smaller display is bad for eyes...i prefer 6.7-6.9 inches..Yes I totally agree but beware of Samsung flickering screens that use PWM and not DC dimming.

My current phone has 6.9 inch screen and it is difficult for me to go to a smaller screen, but if there was no choice, the minimum screen size would be 6.6 inch.

Gimme a phone with 6.1" 120Hz LTPO Display, 5000mAh battery, 5-10x Optical Zoom Periscope Camera, 120° FoV Ultrawide, 64MP Main Cam, 40MP Front, Good Stereo Speakers, Timely OS updates and I won't switch to another phone for the next 4 years.

There should be small version of phone. Definitely moving from big screen to small one will be difficult initially to adjust but single hand usage benefit will make it easy..
