The detail rendition is quite impressive for such a small sensor tho the noise level needs some improvement.

This is why most reviewers are recommending the iPhone 12/12 Pro over the Max unless screen size and battery is a priority for you.
But I'll give you full marks for your enthusiasm in thinking that 12 pro Max would take the crown from Huawei this year.

DxO getting generous. Looking at those pictures, I tend to feel Note 20 Ultra getting better out of the two. I like iPhone colour rendition which is trying to look closer to the actual subjects. But 128 is definitely a huge win for 12 Pro...but hard to believe

Yes... Because I am sure people can see the difference between a phone that scores 136, 133, 132 or 128... Who's doing pixel peep unless that's your job...
It's so stupid all those tests. 99% of people don't even know how to take picture anyway and if they do, it's to take stupid selfies or 100 pictures of their dog or something else totally uninteresting.

Same 12MP sensor, same score. Computational photography can only go so far, just like pixel cameras for the last 3 generations.
