When you develop everything in house benchmarks don't work. It's why a 2020 Honda Civic with 180 HP will wipe the floor with a 650 HP 1992 Bugatti even if it's perfectly maintained. Everything's been refined to this point. I was floored by the M1 chip and even independent YouTube reviewers are stunned with its performance.

Next thing you know they roll out an update that magically increases the Benchmark scores.
As iOS and Android version of the server different benchmark apps totally different.

If Apple put the M1 chipset in the iPad Pro and made it run macOS, 11 out of 10 I would buy one! While I am definitely interested in trying out macOS, I'm not going to buy another laptop. I already have one running Windows 10.

I think a better comparison of 12 inch Macbook are some of the Snapdragon or Mediatek powered laptops as they lack active cooling. That Macbook doesn't even weigh 1kg so bear that in mind.

Chong Liu's videos are fake. One occassion he actually left the visual settings to high not maximum.
I doubt a S20 Exynos actually loses out to a Redmi Note 8 Pro. S10 Exynos runs well on PUBG Mobile at smooth extreme without throttling, so it's a funny coincidence that S20 Exynos struggles to run it at the same settings.
Genshin is not even optimised on PS4 and multiple users have complained about iOS optimisation. I think this has partially been adressed. I wonder why everyone is using that game to benchmark a phone when it's not actually a fair measure of performance.

That's why business laptop, which priced north 2000$, even now, still offer 'clunky' design & 'outdated' maintenance bay, but highly practical; unlike Macs, which, as ALWAYS, all about 'futuristic' (but fragile & practically hard to repair design); which translate: if broken, u HAVE to buy another one (which at one point will also face the same, if not worse, issues).
Not to mention that MacOS was, is, and will never be as versatile and practical as Windows & Linux (again, it's all about 'stylish' & 'trendy' when it comes to Apple's OS; proven by large percentage of Mac user using Bootcamp)

Wait until you see the performance without emulation, it's would have the performance of roughly a core i9.
But you do make a point, a lot of people choose sub-$1000 laptops.

Remember the good old 12" MB, useless piece of @#$&, anyone could install a few programs on it and make it lag/freeze & crash
-typing on my $800 laptop from late 2014 (4th gen. i7), still works flawlessly.
