Nothing says "We're independent!" like releasing a rebranded Redmi 9 Power.

Claims they're independent from Xiaomi yet they still use the latter's MIUI skin. Don't get me wrong, I love the value for money POCO has brought to the market for the past couple of years, but claiming themselves as independent is just a load of BS.

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2020oneplus was NEVER independent. right from oneplus one (oppo... moreIt's not about design, it's about the company's strategy and target consumers. OnePlus was more about value for money and targeted tech enthusiasts unlike oppo who had a completely different strategy (I know about oppo's beginnings but it didn't take them long enough to completely switch to an other direction).

Have a Poco F2 Pro and the software support is abysmal.
Independence from Xiaomi? The only different thing is the launcher that's not particularly good.

How many of them are actually sold to end consumers and how many are in working condition? Hardware is cheap, agreed.. All it matters, how much you invest towards the quality of hardware & software, effort to test all the scenarios and bothered to support for next two years.... if a company is releasing a new phone every week, obviously will not care about all those above..... I never trust these cheap hardware objects....

They aren't independent though. Several of their phones are just rebranded Xiaomi/Redmi phones ie Poco F2 Pro is just Redmi K30 Pro

Independent your face POCO! L😂L You’re like OnePlus that can’t escape its mother company whatever you do or say to the public. Every component your smartphones have comes from Xiaomi and that’s it! That’s the truth you can never escape unless you totally move to another OEM / ODM company.
