DMX, 25 Nov 2020Said from your chinese phone with samsung panel but one of ... moreIIRC, the only issue that Samsung's screens have on other Brand's devices is the lack of the option to calibrate them. You're stuck with the limited options the manufacturer agreed upon with Samsung.
Vivo and Lenovorolas mostly got their displays from Samsung and I am sure it has to do with their great R&D and 12 year expertise making these displays, while LG Display and Chinese newcomers such as BOE, Tianma, TCL, e.t.c. are busy trying to catch up with Sammy in terms of quality and innovation.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020Go for other flagships unless you want to forget about qual... moreI've never sold any of my phones. I just kept using them until they died or their battery would charge longer than discharge.
Am I doing something wrong? Probably not. Do people make bad decisions buying LG or Motorola phones? I really don't think so. They may trade off some things, but they get what they wanted for what they paid for and it works for them.
At the end of the day, more choices benefit us all as it makes companies think outside the box and release unique ideas like the LG Wing or the Motorola flip phone.

IpsDisplay, 25 Nov 2020Whoa isnt that the new OV64B? The only 1.0 micron sensor... moreNo. The OV48C was a breakthrough sensor with 1.2 microns which increased the size of the sensor but also offered a huge increase in photo quality. Too bad the only company that bet on it was Xiaomi with their Chinese exclusive Mi 10 Ultra. OmniVision sensors are really best served raw (Or with minimal noise reduction) or greatly benefit from the proper post-processing that GCam offers, which is a shame as they can sometimes compete with Sony's offerings and, most of the times, are better than what Samsung churns out...

Go for other flagships unless you want to forget about quality and updates. Also forget about resale value if you go for it anyway.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020Seems like a lot of the issues with the screen of the edge ... moreI believe the Moto Edge screen issues are due to the curved edges and not 90hz screen.
Moto has another 90hz screen model (albeit being IPS) and it doesn't have any screen issue.

Make the screen flat please!
Look at Samsung S20 FE and One Plus 8T. These superb budget flagships are flat. Motorola better makes this phone flat!

Whoa isnt that the new OV64B?
The only 1.0 micron sensor on the market with 64mp resolution? Or am I mixing them up?
The omnivision sensor on these are the only interesting thing about this phone
I. Know this is niche but it seems like either omnivision sebnsors in combination with a mediatek processors are capable of taking hibiscus flowers pictures without clipping its colors
Literally the p40, iPhone 12 etc cant capture the different shades of colors on a hibiscus flower

Interesting, Especially a 105hz display if it comes off.
Nio can relate to Guardians of the Buddha so maybe there's some kind of "peace mode" within the phone's software.
Judging by the camera set-up and chipset, I think this is a successor to the Motorola Edge. A higher tier variant will use the soon to be launched Snapdragon 875 IMO.

Just like marketing 144Hz is better than 120Hz, marketing 105Hz is better than 90Hz. The difference is practically unnoticeable, but it just sounds better on paper.

Seems like a lot of the issues with the screen of the edge were being linked to the 90 Hz refresh rate. Perhaps this is them stress testing next year's model to avoid the same mistake.
