France will begin labeling electronics with repairability ratings in January

Anything with a non-removable battery should get no more than 5

    Please bring back removable batteries and people will hold onto their phones for longer. Non removable battery in a phone is intentional by the manufacturer to force users/consumers into buying a new phone once the battery runs out of juice. It's all part of planned obsolescence. Good initiative by France, hopefully manufacturers will make parts easy to replace if consumers vote with their wallets. All countries should adopt such initiative to check on ewaste.

        and yes, if you use android, your battery can be replaced when it aged. it just you gonna need to bring it to repairshop.

        and i take that design which allows bigger battery and more durable innards as they don't need to take account to engineer user replaceable battery.

                You can have a removable battery all you want, but if the other internal components are difficult to remove or replace, it'd still get very low repairability scores.

                        Wow, France is great. Viva la France. This will make phone makers concentrate on designing their phones so parts are easily replaceable.

                              Pixel 5 is unibody. You need to remove screen to access battery, while glass phones you remove rear panel. Curved screen is just more expensive, it is not harder to take it off.

                                They should also have a youtube channel explaining the repairability rating they're providing the specific phones and break it down to specific areas why they have failing marks just like what other YouTubers are doing (Jerryrigeverything..etc) and make a lot of money at the same time, LMAO. I guess France is the first one who will be taking it seriously.
