In next 5 years nothing will change. Now it just begging of building up awareness of customer. Score probably will be hide it somewhere on back of the box, thing that you read last. All TV in shop are out of box, unless they made them to put that score on label price, then score get partly irrelevant. Apple is selling electronics on whole world they won't change anything because of France.

This is a very good move against companies who practice planned obsolescence.

but everybody is entitled to an opinion, no matter how... beeep....

Way to go, France! Now if only this would lead to the reemergence of replaceable batteries and an abundance of official spare parts...

IPhones have some of the worst repairability score.
Even worse part is that you can service them through third parties.. They hire these third party repair persons at low prices and repair the phone at five times higher cost.
Another one of their Greedy malpractices would be exposed.

that is the biggest bulshit ive ever seen,if you dont have skills, tools and quality parts your device could end up in even worst state than it is-lets swap iphone xs battery withoth breaking the display, wireless charging coil, face id,front camera and button flex, still iphones have higher scores in ifixit than s or note samsungs which is way easy to repair, but no,some folks at ifixit dont know how to remove safely the baterry,or screen is glued to the frame and thats bad-why?I could reassemble almost any samsung phone twice faster than any iphone for example

Shanti Dope, 26 Nov 2020It's about time you move on and start adopting changes... moreWell said fella, totally agree 👍

Anonymous, 26 Nov 2020Anything with a non-removable battery should get no more than 5It's about time you move on and start adopting changes. Having removable batteries also allow us to take better care of our batteries instead of having so many electronic waste because of having to constantly replace batteries.
We have power banks nowadays, which have more than twice the capacity of our phone batteries, and fast charging is slowly evolving too, so why worry about carrying spare batteries?
The only time you'd need to replace your battery is when it's truly degraded already, which is for at least two years if you really take good care of your battery.

Having sealed batteries, on the other hand, allows manufacturers to improve the rigidity and quality of the devices. You will no longer get problems like suddenly shutting down due to battery connection failures and such. Basically, having more moving parts on a phone further lessens its structure. Sealed batteries were at least made for many good reasons, and manufacturers already overcame the drawbacks of having them.

Will the label be from manufacturer or from a seperate body which will evaluate product repairability
