Samsung has gone nuts following Apple. They removed the 3.5 mm jack, FM Radio, Dedicated Hot Swappable Memory Card Slot, Irda, User Replaceable Battery ... introduced the ugly notches and pinholes ... and then they say that the demand has gone down !!! Are they out of their mind ??? They keep on removing one thing after the other and kept on increasing the price, and now they are going to remove the Charger too. Which idiot will buy it ??? If we wanted an iPhone, why would we go for the Note? Wake up Sammy and don't be the Greatest Techno-Idiot, give us what we want.

End of an era that we all cherish so much. I had the Note 4, Note 8 and now I have the Note 9. I will probably buy the last Note next year so that is some 3-4 more years with it. It was a great journey. Farewell!

With this decision, I stand to disagree with samsung. There is zero functionality in foldables, except for bragging rights. Those folding screens will also tear apart after 3 to 4 years of use. When that problem starts samsung will pay heavily for abandoning their premium line.

Adrenalin101, 03 Dec 2020I could see the "note" screen being the outside o... moreThat's exactly my point as I said in my earlier comment, from the outside when folded it looks exactly like a Note series phone. It's the same story at the back again when folded, even the Z Fold2's rear camera design looks exactly the same as the one on the Note20 Ultra.

YUKI93, 02 Dec 2020Come to think about it, the Galaxy Z Fold2 from the outside... moreI could see the "note" screen being the outside one only. Maybe at 6.4-6.6 inches

AnonD-923722, 02 Dec 2020Stupid decision. It is better to remove the S Series enitre... moreI have a note 8 myself. I be wouldn't mind if they rebranded the note series as the S ultra series. So basically it would go s21, s21 plus and the s21 ultra (note) but they would have to integrate the pen inside the phone. Maybe has a slot that is covered by some sort of plug or dummy pen and if you want the note experience then you pay for the actual pen.

another reason why this is good (IF they integrate the stylus into the S model's body) is that when reviewers compare Apple's flagship device to Samsung's flagship device, they will actually be comparing samsung's best as opposed to its second best offering, which up to this point the S line has always been.

I don't care about names. If they make an S model with an integrated stylus, that will be the "note" to me. And if this makes the (de-facto) note series the flagship of samsung, that is only win-win.

RS, 03 Dec 2020Really? Note 20 Ultra is a piece of shit? You don't... moreIndeed

This is a good move... It will give the following benefits:-
                      1. LOWER COSTS, With combined sales of S and note series in one set of 2-3 devices, actually there will be more margin to cut costs and achieve economies of scale with sharing components.
                      2. With S pen, actually S series will get a lease of life and more use situations than before..
                      3. Longer flagship life, lesser stress on employees...

Good move is an understatement, awesome move is more like it. This could've happened in a normal business like situation as well.

I have the Note9 512GB and looking for an upgrade. However if upgrading means giving up my headphone jack I will not do it as it would feel more like a downgrade. I also like 512GB and need Dual Sim. Do not like the curved screen though. Therefore I did not buy the Note 10 or 20.
From my point of view Samsung should have differentiated the Note- and S-Series by giving the Note a flat rectangular display with lots of ports (why not two USB-C or headphone ports?) for pro and productive users. The shiny S-Series would be then more for the regular media consuming users. Both together would cover a broader audience and generate more sales for Samsung...

It's not about the user anymore.
It's just about stupid CEOs making stupid decisions and filling their pockets.
The note series used to lead the pack.

You have hundreds and thousands of reviews on S20U and N20U, everyone will say that N20U is much better device although when it comes to size they are same(6,9"),not just Spen, the design itself is way better and smoother on note series, I used both phones and when I held note for 2 mins I realized it's twice better than S20 ultra, with it's sharp edges and stainless steel frame, colors way better than on S series..

Alpha8900, 02 Dec 2020Initially the note series was ahead of the s series in many... moreThen there should an SNote with an inbuilt S Pen.

Note series was the real flagship phones. All the folding phones are just style statement s and impractical for daily use.

Im a samsung fan and the note by far is the best. It has a stylus when i need it the most. It's not the pandemic that caused the down fall of note series, it's the price. My last purchase was note 8. I would not buy a phone that would cost around 1500 usd just to change it after a year. My phone right now is huawei which is less than 1000 usd. Now it doesn't have google service i will definitely change to one plus or asus rog or xiaomi which are less than 1000 usd with the specs of a high end phone. Apple is starting to learn the lesson about prices.
