Android Authority, 05 Dec 2020Lol... Are you saying a small 1/3" sensor with glass z... morePocket cams are 1/2.3".
Compacts 1".

My w830 surely does not delivery those crap images provided by 12 pro max in dayight.

Even at 1", phones will still lose against RX100.
Photos that look heavily edited ( samsung, apple) do not mean better.
Simple fact they have wrong colours already points to task failed.

Chill out dudes. Despite the 600mp gimmick, the thing is they are making almost 1 inch camera sensor into real. Soon i think they will release 1 inch 108 mp sensor which the result can be great

I know it is all about technology here(supposedly), but who gives a damn about number of pixels if your brain still wired to surroundings through your own eyes. Improvements endless - life is not. Enjoy your brain now!

I believe it's one of the most portable point and shooters out there... It can't do miracles, and its AF ain't blazing fast as some smartphones (or sonys rx series for that matter) but it can take photos that just can't be achieved by a smartphone.
Can it beat my full-sized DSLR (full sized as in size, still aspc sensor) ? No, but l sure as hell ain't gonna carry that chunk on me all the time, so this seems like a reasonable compromise.
Smartphone photos look well on small screen, but put them on laptop and you'll start seeing the overprocessing, colors either unnatural or washed out, smearing, over sharpening, artifacts etc etc.

Android--Master, 05 Dec 2020RX100 is a dead series. The entire "point and shoot&q... moreMirrorless and DSLR are related to mirror.
                Not restricted to big sensors.

                Current rx100 has 24-200mm.
200mm while using 1", unlike phones using 1/4".
Not even counting way superior video skills.

Phones are just convenient, still poor quality compared to cameras.
                Saw a video S20 ultra vs ZV1 , 4K video compared.
S20U was a huge joke besides the zv1.

Funny that even a 1/2.3" pocket cam can take photos without oil painting looking, no sharpening, no fake punchy colours.
The Kyocera I bought in 2004 never made ppl look like wax or sketch.

No, no, Samsung is preparing 600mp sensor for automotive industry. They never said it will be used on phones. Your source is confiusing facts where the sensor is used. No snapdragon will support that anytime soon.

Kinda unnecesary. 100MP is enough, I think it's better to have multiple reasonably sized cams, than one that bigđ

I thought Samsung were working on a. 1" 150mp camera sensor? is there any reason on earth why a 600mp camera on a phone would ever be useful or good quality? sadly I dont rate their current 108mp camera sensor at all on the Ultra, my note 10+ produced better images in most scenarios, Samsungs algorithms for processing are dreadful, I now have an iphone 12pro max and Note 20 ultra, as a long time android user, i will continue to be so due to the freedoms of the platform, but the camera on the iphone produces images that are quite a distance away and above ny N20U

here we go again with the megapixels race.

Only a mirroless camera or a Dslr is ahead in terms of image quality.

Such a camera would be able to replace 16mm ultra wide , 26mm wide and 112mm periscope tele, if the lens is very sharp and has an f-number of 2.5 with OIS.

This sensor is 1/0.57", the effective pixel size will be even higher than a traditional 1/0.57" by jumping to 600MP.
You just can't fit big sensors in a smartphone without making the device too thick or having a huge camera bump. Hence the megapixel race.

Already nowadays the lens of the Xiaomi Note 10 captures approximately as much light per time as Canon Aps-c + wide angle kit lens. This camera would surely capture even more light per time.
