It's like telling me that since the iPhone has better videos than a Galaxy, cross-platform switching will occur? This is very Ice-Age thinking. The target Apple aims is its existing users and some undecided folks.

Well its interesting but Nvidia, Ryzen, AMD, Intel and many others are far beyound.
Its like Android phones with 16GB ram where apple phones still needs not more than 2 GB of ram for perfectly workng.
Havng an Apple phone with 16GB ram would be completely useless because for basic tasks then phone will be equally fast as the phone with 2 or 4GB ram.
      This going to be same.
Present Macbooks Imacs and Macbooks pro are equally fast as the new ones will be because there is litterary nothing which will gives harsh times to those new CPUs and GPUs.

Uts like having 144 or even 300 HZ refresh rate screen when top games on a cell phones needs mostly 60 and only Forza *Motorsport can be switched to 90 from 60HZ in settings .

Hello Life, 08 Dec 2020Excuse me. Do you Even realize that my point wasn’t about t... moreIt's all about the Architecture lol kid.

Intel ISA contains instructs right from the 1970s 😂😂 and it still carries today, they can't get rid of it so that it doesbt affect back compatibility.

While ARM was also released inn1980s, it's has gotten rid of the old baggage and useless back compatibility garbage that intel and AMD still carry on.

Things are getting better for ARM and Apple since they are kicking out the dated 32bit support at silicon level with ARM V9 in 2023.

Although Apple is 64 bit only, some of the custom instructions are derived from ARM 8.4 which still supports 32 bit.

X86 fanatics reminds me of those fools who argued against cars and electricity in the late 19th century.

Younwill see real ARM perfomance in 2023 with ARM V9 and Apple MX processors.

That must feels absolutely embarrasing for useless and Failing Goliath Intel.

it will take another 30 years for Intel to die, but when it finally dies no one will miss it.

Lasuto, 08 Dec 2020AMD/Intel/Nvidia won't care. Apple isn't a threat... moreyou are right they are not a threat, since apple plays very cleverly.

Apple is purely focused on maintaining margin and raking in the profits.

Apple makes up only 8% of PC market but rakes in 66% of profits.

So why should apple cater to remaining 92% market to make up merely 34% profits?

It’s early to tell if Apple’s M1 chip is the real thing in the long run and it is well optimized with Apple products. IF AND ONLY IF Apple will share it to other brands that will be able to know its true potential and limitation - as usual in our dreams, that’s how selfish Apple is when it comes to monopolization and monetary greediness. 🤣

It's Time that Snapdragon move to Create the M1 and M-Series alternatives. It should be that hard, considering Apple is using the ARM architecture with its own permutations and combinations.

Intel may be headed to the cleaners.

Note. Tiger lake with the highest offerings i7, with the EVO iGPU. It got trashed by M1, the weakest and lowest end of Apple chip.

Tiger lag gets hot.. super hot then throttles. M1 ha.. does all with just 10 Watts.

ARM (iOS / Android) + Crossover + rosetta makes it the ultimate gaming machine in the future. Once the developer found the power of M1 and sales.. games will come naturally.

Btw, the delivery date of MBA / MBP / Mac mini is delayed to next year.. and yeah.. that proves sales is amazing. AMD stands a chance, but M1 wipe the floor with intel.. with its weakest chip.

If indeed they're best at everything they do, we won't see a slightest flaw, bug or malfunction on their products. Can't even make a fully functional phones without bug and malfunction and they released only 4 type of phones a year.

Apple making GPU won't be a threat to AMD/Nvidia. At best it will be on par with current gen Intel iGPU. Intel been doing GPU for decades and it doesn't bat an eye on AMD/Nvidia. And no, Apple won't focus on gaming. They will focus on professional thing like they always do. The reason they're making their own SoC is that so they can be independent and have more control over their products.

Apple making its moves before the US government lift the Huawei ban. 😂 What Apple is currently doing has been done by Huawei (as well as Samsung) and was stopped by Apple’s connection and under the table thru the help of the Trump administration 🤦‍♂️ That’s the ugly truth about killing the competition and monopolizing effectively (learn from what Apple did okay 🤣).

And when they come with better GPUs in 2021, they will also focus on gaming. So it will surely threaten the market of Nvidia, Sony, Intel, AMD.

AMD/Intel/Nvidia won't care. Apple isn't a threat to their existence in computer and workstation world knowing that MacOS has low and segregated market and this M1s is optimized to run on whatever software Apple designed. Apple products has to go out of their ecosystem and fight in the open world to be a threat for them. Until Apple decided to do so, this won't really change things around. At best, this will benefits existing Macs users.
