Best gaming phone without a headphone jack. Just because you're rocking gaming on laptops doesn't mean you rock on smartphones too. I voted for Legion honestly.

Sony fans repeating the same thing about manual controls in every thread.
No matter how much they try to sell the Xperia, it ain't selling as good as other flagships.

Mate 40 Pro for RAW? That phone can only shoot RAW on its main sensor, and that's already the bottomline. The 1 II and 5 II can shoot in RAW on all of its 3 cameras, and they all deliver very flexible data.

Also, the natively smaller pixel size of the Mate 40 Pro's sensor hinders its capabilities to capture light compared to the 5 II's native large pixels, and pixel binning won't be able to do anything to improve it. You see, even the Note 20 Ultra's 108MP sensor struggles badly in low light, and the S20 and S20+ do better because of their larger pixels.
As for computational photography, photos aren't immediately guaranteed to look better than manually edited RAW photos, otherwise mirrorless cameras should also be using the same technique to process their JPEGs by now.
Also, how are you going to capture photos continuously fast when the phone is still processing photos in the background? No wonder why only the 1 II and 5 II can shoot 20fps photos with continuous burst AF and AE in any smartphone today.
Also, you don't always need to constantly change the settings. In fact, unlike in auto mode, you can actually lock the settings of your camera if the subject or scenery that you're trying to capture is constant or you don't want the settings to be adjusted automatically. You just change the settings once in a while and then continue your work with no problems at all. Clearly in this part you really don't even know how to use manual mode and the whole science of photography in general, otherwise you wouldn't even make a long and nonsense paragraph like this.

They did. That's why they created several tutorial videos that teaches users how to operate the settings in Photo Pro app.
The functions are every bit as easy as learning them in a few minutes of exploring and playing with the app to get the best results for every scenario.
Besides, why are we assuming that users are dumb? I thought we're supposed to be getting smarter and smarter every time we progress?
What Apple and Google did is basically spoonfeeding the users and taking away their creativity by deciding what's best for them instead of having them decide for themselves.
I'm not against the idea, but manual photography is every bit as good as computational photography, if not better in some ways.
Professional photographers also don't have enough time to make adjustments during photoshoots, yet they still achieve great results in manual mode. Why? Because they didn't become stupid lazy users that relied solely on the camera itself to do everything, and instead learned how to create photos that not even computational photography can do.
You're basically saying that all smartphone users that don't know how to use manual mode are dumb, because even a kid can easily learn the basics in just a few minutes.
To each his own, Sony's auto mode still delivers the most natural images with little to no manipulation to them for greater flexibility later in the editing, and that's a given fact that you simply cannot deny. There's no way a heavily processed image will be accurate and natural, and my sister's S20+ is a living statement for this. Even GCAM that performs similar to Google's own Pixel camera software are unnatural. My reference? A Canon M50.

If I were to bring statistics here, I'll be able to tell you that there are over 70 percent movie contents in Netflix that are in 21:9 ratio, which means that most of the movies there can make full use of this phone's native aspect ratio, which is made even better by the absence of any obtrusive screen cutout that would ruin the full-screen movie experience.
Also, 21:9 is a real industry standard aspect ratio for movies, and has been used all the way back from like 2 decades ago up to this day forward. This means that there are millions of contents available in this ratio, as well as other standards like 16:9, 4:3, 3:2, 16:10, etc.
Meanwhile, how many non-YouTube contents do you know that were originally made in 18:9, 18.5:9, 19:9, 19.5:9, or even 20:9 format and are also optimized to adjust for the phone's screen cutouts? If it's just apps that you could name me, then it's game over now.
Have I also mentioned how much better it is to grip a narrow phone? Perhaps that doesn't matter anymore, but having more screen contents displayed on the screen vertically in portrait mode and horizontally in landscape mode is a real benefit in so many ways.
But I guess this cinematic ratio is all bullsh*t until your beloved brand starts to adopt the same format. :)))

If you enjoy ping spikes, sure. Sadly the connections stability is better on other phones, that's not stated as gaming.

I just really love how a phone with both a pop up and a big moving part is crushing the underdisplay gimmick one.
I often say that pop up is a much better option than underdisplay camera, but because 2 or 3 people disagree, the next one thing it means everyone disagreed, sure, but it doesn't work that way, many people still love the pop up AND doesn't mind moving parts.

Oppo X 2021 is not even real as it's just a mere concept. The ZTE Axon 20 5G's only interesting point is the under-display camera, everything else is just the same as any other generic bar smartphones. The LG Wing definitely deserved it - it's innovation turned up to 11. The Microsoft Duo shows that dual display can be thin. The Z Fold2 5G and Mate XS is an improvement over their first-gen model.

People just want a camera they can point and shoot then share it to someone else. No one wanna wastes 10 seconds or more in Pro mode just to set up the right settings for the perfect shot. Pro mides JPEG are inferior to JPEG by auto mode in any phone, all because of computational photography, no one would want it. If you say RAW, mann...... Who wanna keep an file size that is 30MB+ on an phone just for editing, and when you edit it, you need special apps and tools that only professionals would want. If you are an professional that shoots RAW and don't point and shoot and hates computational photography, don't buy any phone except sony phones and Huawei phones, use them at RAW and their respective pro modes. Or get an actual camera instead, if you want the best quality RAW, since small sensors cannot capture that much information in an single shot RAW, they lack the dynamic range at single shot.
Smartphone
Auto mode JPEG (a lot of info thanks to multi stacking images)
RAW (lacks information thanks to small sensor not taking enough information)
JPEG at Pro Mode (Lacks even more than the RAW one, since there is no extra information like RAW does, or even computational photography like in auto mode)
So,,,, what for is the manual controls?? If you want something like that, get an Actual DSLR or Mirrorless camera, you can play with the settings more, capture more information in single snap in pro mode. Smartphone cameras aren't optimized for that, especially those small sensors of Xperia 5 ii, what can you hope for just an 1/1.7 inch sensor??? It lacks dynamic range, detail, too much noise, can't capture much light, the RAW has very low information. Currently if you want the best smartphone camera for the average consumer, get either Note 20 Ultra/Ip12 PM/Mate 40 Pro. If you want controls over things, get the Mate 40 Pro, definitely not sony, their RAW is terrible, Mate 40 Pro has much better RAW information
