Google and Qualcomm are teaming up to bring timelier Android updates to upcoming flagships.

Android ecosystem everyone is busy fragmenting it and tons of fantastic features that never worked and never had a serious update just a giant mess specially Chinese makers messy spaghetti code,, can Google educate this guy's to upstream the code so it can be checked

    Verizon and Sprint (acquired by T-Mobile).

    Cheaper to use SD there than paying royalties for Qualcomm's tech all mobile modems have.
    Using exynos, make money back to Samsung's pocket. Money that would be entirely to Qualcomm.

      You need to go to accessibility.

Samsung already signed with android for their phones to have 3 major updates back in August... So if you have Samsung whether it is exynos or Snapdragon you get 3 major updates, starting from Note20.

          IPhones are not the sought after device that they used to be back in the day.

          Plenty of people, who have traditionally used Samsung and Apple flagships in the past have switched to Chinese Flagships like OnePlus 8 pro & Mi 10 ultra this year.
          My sales record in 2020 is proof of the same.

            there goes the death of exynos chip "in the rest of the world" if samsung doesn't do the same as anything less consumers will cry foul big time. good move by Qualcomm but will manufacturersend followed ? that's the question !

                Yes iPhones do have a very good resale value but their original cost is expensive thereby nullifying any benefits of resale value.

                I sold my iPhone 11 pro Max for Rs.55k.
                Bought it for around Rs.120k.
                Effective Cost of using the phone for a little less than a year turned out to be Rs.65k.

                If you buy other flagships and sell them after a year, the maximum effective cost of using the phone turns out to be less than Rs.50k which is why the resale value of iPhone is overrated and another illusion.

                I'll be selling my OP8 pro for a 2021 flagship most probably.
                Though it won't fetch me the resale amount of iPhone but percentage wise the value would be similar.
                I can easily sell it for Rs.25k-30k thereby making effective cost of using the phone for a year around Rs.30k-35k.
                Way cheaper for a superior phone than iPhone 12 pro Max.

                                More than 99,9999999999% of apps still work for android 4.0.

                                Everything android adds are things already seen on other UIs.
                                Stock android is at least 4 years behind.
                                Things Samsung, LG, Sony, Htc and other have since android 4.0 were added to stock after android 7.0.

                                With android 5, I had simple things like "Restart", "screen recorder" and "silent shutter". All this took years to make to android stock.

                                People should never compare to Apple.
                                Apple sells older phones for at least 2 more years after their announcement. Production of iphone 6 ended in 2018.
                                They make tons of money with it.
                                They own the system and make own cpu. So entire support is only up to them.
                                While other rely on Google and chip makers for support.

                                Software support is not cheap. Do not forget Apple makes at least 2,5x more profits than all android OEMs combined with mobile sector.
