04 January 2021
Asus just put-out a handful of devices in 2020, but, in our mind they were all winners in their own right.

Giving only three phones per years is not really a bad thing, but indeed, the slow commercialisation is really annoying ...

Yup, asus and sony both made only good phones

Dunno why they still promote the ROG 3's screen quality. I had been severely disappointed to ROG 3 just by the screen quality alone. The black crush is not even fixed w/ the last update. Watching movies exp is better on cheaper phones w/ lower class tech display, e.g. Mi 10T Pro

Just like what Asus said last year, they want to focus in hi-end (flagship) phone market n gaming phone segment.
Hopefully they will come with fascinating solid midrange phones.

With 5G baked into the 888 chipset and the obvious negativity in removing the headphone jack, I can see Asus bringing it back to both phones (since they can use the same batteries now). As long as they do that and put nearly every LTE/5G band imaginable in their next phones, I'm all for it.

Would be nice to see a mid-range Zenfone though. Some people don't need the extra performance.

Zenfone 7 announced for more than $850 in few locations (even own home Taiwan) is a winner?

I would not consider the "loser" a bad thing, they focus one few phones and make the best out of it.

Look at OnePlus in the past, they did the same and that worked but when their cheaper phones, Nord aside are truly "meh" for the price.

Let Asus focus on de phones in a proper way, because the race to the bottom is a.bad idea, companies like Xiaomi and Realme (to name few) lurk around at the bottom and Asus would fail fighting against them due to their agressive pricing (they are cheap FOR A REASON)

So what Asus does is fine.
