    So it is Harmony UI based on android OS

      Just because an electric car and internal combustion car both have 4 wheels and looks like cars from the outside doesn't mean they're the same under the hood. Harmony, running on microkernel, is similar to Google's Fuchsia, and is completely different from Android that runs on Linux kernel. What this shows is the UI on the outside is similar, that they both look like cars from the outside. It's the exact opposite as saying the internal framework is similar. They're not, and they cannot. We already know that.

            RealLifePhones, 26 Dec 2020This proves Huawei can't make their own OS and are f*c... morethis cant prove yet.. because if they no build base on Android, then the current apps cannot use at all.. unlike IOS already so many years, so developer will develop IOS and Android apps in the same time.. if Huawei build a new OS, mean both IOS and Android apps cannot support, instead need create a new framework to support.. not all developer will do.. unless it already mature until all company willing to 1 more OS apps.. don't tell people you think IOS and Android apps sharing the same platform

              Though their own app store is getting bigger, but the apps available there still the apps for Android. Huawei won't be that stupid to just leave Android after trying to get developers coming to their apo store. They may planning to create their own framework but until it's mature, I bet that OS will still support Android app at least in emulation mode. For now, customising AOSP is the best way for them.

                Whey will never learn, Linux is open source and developed in universities and scientists around the making things better totally open this guys have nothing to contribute on openness

                  All this hype about Huawei OS only to plagiarise old Android version. It's supposed to be Open Source and what happened?.

                    No way that Huawei will create their own os - thus losing Android ecosystem. Ecosystem is the only thing that matters - anyone practically can create any mobile, embedded os either based on Linux kernel or something else, but without ecosystem, it's not going anywhere, especially near "business" and "money".
