Less bloatware? EXCELLENT! Lower memory usage? GREAT!
Does anyone know if you can set the dark theme to enable itself automatically at sunset, like the blue light filter?
I just wish they’d allow the user to disable preinstalled apps without resorting to 3rd party apps (such as «Hidden Settings in MIUI»).

Suddenly it became blazing fast (swiping from the home screen to next). Better wallpapers etc. Miui has always been known to be a heavy skin, even Huawei/Honor's EMUI is tons better than MIUI. Its good they finally realized this.

That 2 layers on android you can really feel once you've used ios. Its faster, leaner with no bloatware. Its the iphone, its the king of smartphones.

The only problem with Xiaomi is deliberately slowing down older devices with every software updates. Less battery, less features compared to new Mi 11 & lots of bugs & things for older devices. They do this to Force older customers to dump their devices & buy the new ones. Is it a coincidence that 12.5 comes right after mi 11. Miui 12.5 will only work best for those getting it straight out of the box not for those who are going to update. That's The reason I shifted to oneplus because of such bad practices from Xiaomi no matter how enticing the skin is unless MIUI 12.5 comes in the retail box

Also Android is heavier because the underlying code needs to be written in java to accomodate the variety of hardware interfaces that can interact with it unlike apple which doesn't need to accomodate a million interfaces. Both approaches have down and up sides.

The problem with Android is that you're running two layers of software on your phone. One to manage the core components and satisfy Google, the other to satisfy the manufacturer.
Apple doesn't have this problem and those who've used Windows Mobile still miss it for this reason.
If you love Android, maybe just get a Pixel. Seem to be good phones and only one company to please.
